    Neighborhood car wash business

Ah yes. Picking out the soap is def the most important and first step to starting a new car wash business.

Dry brush washers. I can’t keep doing this

Already filled with water??? Well, that's a new one for me. Never heard of a customer bringing their own water in a bucket.

Dry brush washers. I can’t keep doing this

Increase your start price. If you increase it to $5 for example, you will still get $10 from the bucket washers. $5 to fill their bucket; $5 to rinse/SF.

So what would you do (self serve bay abuse)

Seriously? This is par for the course of SS washes. Mud comes with the territory. It's def not my favorite thing to clean up, but it is what is. I draw the line at oil, paint, construction debris, hay, etc.

Just like Yelp, I don't respond to bullies.

    Damage claim concern

Can you post pictures here? What vehicles make/model? What kind of sticker? The fact that the supplied invoice to repair is from a detail shop, and not the dealership basically confirms that the sticker is an aftermarket add-on. Denied!

Alternative Uses for SS Car Wash Building

Car washes, of any type, are "single purpose" buildings. That's why banks hate to finance them because they can't be easily/quickly turned into something else.

    Another bogus insurance claim

Of course their insurance company said they found you at fault. That doesn't mean their decision is correct. Claiming ticky-tack stuff on your own policy is a sure-fire way to get your rates raised through the roof or to get your insurance company to drop you. And other companies won't take...

    Another bogus insurance claim

Why would you turn this over to your insurance if you know you didn't cause the failure?

BBB Contacted me over Wash Club Memberships

As business owners, we have to do what is best for the business; not what feels the best to us personally. She probably did know exactly what she is doing since she washed her car 7 times in the first month. But if her incoming bad yelp/google review prevents even one customer from using your...

BBB Contacted me over Wash Club Memberships

Make sure you have a written/posted policy. Do not rely on "employees trained to tell customers". If customers can't/don't read, that's out of your control. Getting a letter from the BB is like getting an email from Yelp. Throw it away and move on.

Starting a Touch-less IBA in Los Angeles

Your biggest hurdle, besides being a complete newb, is your market. LA real estate is insanely expensive to both buy or lease. Car Washes on leases are rather common in major cities. About half the washes I know personally in the greater LA area are leased, and most of those are high-dollar...
