Just wondering what presoak actually works ?
We are using the Purple Passion from KR. Does it work? NO
Tried different tips, Yellow, red, Black, all the same result just used a lot more chemicals and no better cleaning.
When I worked for a man near me years ago he used Southern pride 2 part hot presoak that actually worked.
Since we are in Coal country you get a black film on vehicles. With Southern pride you could spray it on and just watch
the dirt run down the vehicle. Not so with KR purple passion spraying it cold.

Since southern pride is long gone is there anything out there anyone found that actually works.
Talked to Mannis wash systems from out by Pittsburgh,PA.
He said he has Old blue that does work? Has anyone tried it?
Would really like to find something that actually works.

IMO hot presoak in a self-serve would be more for customer's perception of value than for better cleaning.

i mix up my high pressure soap using powdered hi-ph presoak ( like simoniz correct ) and add some simoniz foam additive for show and cling. it works very well. i use the same thing for foamy brush and my self serve bays really clean well. my soaps waxes and foams go on hot. customers love it and yes hot water cleans everything (that i know of) better. showers, hand washing, laundry. think about it!

I think I get what MEP is getting at. By the time the PS is on the surface of the car, it's not very hot any more. It's probably not much more than ambient temp.

The Kleen-Rite Purple Passion doesn’t do much at all. I was using the Turbo powder from KR, #KRTP50 but it wouldn’t stay in solution so now I'm using Super Wash #KRWW50. It’s been working great, it mixes well, stays in solution, cleans good and it has a lot surfactant in it.

I have used Armor all/Zep that cleans really good Diamond shine, Lustra,Warsaw, blue Corral and Kleen rite and private brands. In all Honesty I currently use Quest Yellow Jacket and its the best to date i have found on a White Tip Dilution no Air injected I still have the southern pride hot preasoak circulation pump set-up (yes old school you can laugh). It melts off the dirt and pulls bugs brake dust/film off whatever. I could just use Quest yellow jacket go around the car top to bottom twice and HP rinse water don't even pick up the brush and the car is spotless no BS. It bubbles like crazy without air which is my set-up. I couldn't imagine adding air too it like everyone else the results. I am not associated with Quest or any distributor just a small time operator that wants the Best chemicals and always looking for better. Now a good quality presoak is going to cost you more $ than OL Kleen rite but you get what you pay for. My customers love it just my 2 cents. not bashing keen rite love there parts/service but there not the soap people. More info you can email me at southernpridecarwash@gmail.com be glad to point you in the direction and contacts.

Since I was using KR Low PH in my tunnel I started using it as the SS pre soak and the SS HP soap. I like it. Had issues with other products like PP Jelling.

I agree, purple passion would not be very effective in removing coal soot.

Passion is relatively mild (pH 6.5 – 7.5) contains olefin sulfonate (bubble bath soap), detergent range alcohol, alkaline salt.

Coal contains minerals but it’s really a rock or organic. So, like diesel soot, the most effective cleaner to remove coal soot is degreaser.

Degreaser isn’t practical for carwash but very strong alkaline is.

How strong?

I lived in Western Pa. almost 30 years, shoveled some coal too.

So, I’d say pH of between 10 and 12 or a medium to strong base.

Right here is the SDS sheet http://questwashproducts.com/wp-content/uploads/YELLOW-JACKET-sds.pdf

They have a wide selection of preasoaks. I would call your local distributor or email me at southernpridecarwash@gmail.com and I could direct you to the owner president of the Company to get you set up just to see if you like it.

Below is there home site look for a distributor for your area in on there site.

I used to use Kleenrite's Inbay Presoak. It was good. However, it was nowhere near as cost effective as Simoniz Correct with 1/3 of a 5 gallon pail of Simoniz foam additive.

Waxman what size/color tip are you using? Why not just use Kleen-Rite Super Wash #KRWW50, it’s already got the surfactant in it. that's what I've been using and I'm happy with it. I'd like to try the Quest Yellow Jacket but the nearest distributor is about 500 miles away.

I've used KR's "Correct", & it will NOT stay mixed. I have to re-stir it, every day! Actually multiple times each day, when I'm there. Anyone else have that problem?

You might have a super solution. You might try emptying the tank and make sure you are using the recommended amount of powder. If you are not mixing with soft water another possibility is that the product is not hard water compatible.

I don’t really think that bigger is better. If your using more chemical than the last one you used, it’s not going to be saving you anything

i know i'm just hooked on bubbly, soapy, crazy hp soap that looks like milk!

i am in the process of calculating soap cost per auto wash and have a pretty good idea of what it costs per car for iba presoak.

i guess i will calculate ss next so i know exactly.

Different strokes for other folks,I use heated presoak in ss bays and it cleans the grasshoppers and road grime alot better than straight power wash.I use extreme presoak by Scotch Plaid for 26 years now.Every once in a while I will test another presoak in one bay and use it on my mail trucks and courier cars in my fleet, always going back to SP.
