Hi

I re-nozzled my car wash last week. I'm happy with everything except my underbody wash in the touchless. I have a pipe the cars drive over. I think it's 3/4" . I have 5 nozzles; 4 1/8 MEG 2506 and one 1/4 MEG 2505.

The pump's belt squeals when underbody starts, so I'm thinking I need to get bigger nozzles. What does everyone else use / recommend?

I run wide with high gallons. Check the GPM total of the nozzles on your IBA, then go 10 GPM more on your undercarriage (assuming you are using the same pump for both.) Less wear and tear on your pump, less pressure going underneath the cars knocking stuff loose.

No; I've been down this road before and changing belts didn't change things; a bigger orifice in a few nozzles did.

How do I tell gpm of nozzle?

The last two digits, --06 = 6 GPM at 4000 PSI, or 3 GPM at 1000.

Is there not a gauge on your high pressure pump to tell you if you're exceeding your maximum pressure?

If the tips are spaced apart by 12" or more, you might want a wider tip. They make them up to 80°.

Did the belt start to squeal exactly when you changed the under carriage nozzles? I noticed a while back ours started to squeal only when the undercarriage started. The belt seemed tight to me but I tightened it anyway and it went away.

SW Indiana melon fields.
I use big nozzles. I think I have 09 and 10s in mine. Whatever makes the most noise under the car. If I don’t have all the same size, I put the bigger ones on the drivers side.

Squeal started once I re-nozzled the pipe. I had drilled a couple out big (previous to this) and no more squeal.
