it had been working for 6 months after i programmed it the first time. it just started wednesdayYou absolutely need to program the coins in the dark. If you program or test the coin acceptor in the direct daylight, the sensors will not read correctly. If you are in the shade, its not as picky. But you will only get good results if you program with the meterbox or cashier door closed, and test with the door closed.
I gave up with the IDX coin acceptors and have been tossing them in the garbage when they lose there memory. They are total garbage as far as I'm concerned. Like I.B Washincars said they " The service was slow and they were never fixed when I got them back"
The last coin acceptor I sent to IDX for repair they called me 7 months later and told me it was repaired. I told them to keep it, as I had already switched to another brand. I will never use IDX again. Seven month repair time is ridiculous.I gave up with the IDX coin acceptors and have been tossing them in the garbage when they lose there memory. You must be looking at the ones that are listed on Ebay, they don't have the wiring that comes out of the coin acceptor. I'm not sure that they are the same model that are used in the car wash industry. I'd buy the complete coin acceptor and replace the mounting frame, they are a little different.so im looking into getting some MicroCoin QL Q7620-Ds. will they be able to be a direct replacment for my IDX x10s. like can i use the same metal cradle and just wire it in?
So does IDX. As I said, I've never tried, but they should interchange.Additionally, QLs utilize a specific mounting bracket. The bracket fits the industry standard CoinMech coin slot and return cup. The bracket also provides for “no tools required” to insert/remove the acceptor.
