We did the same thing works goodI'm installing a new Razor and re-using my 15 year old Hamilton Gold Line. it has been a great machine and relatively trouble free over the last 15 years. I am upgrading the credit card acceptance to crypto pay, adding new buttons and a face plate that comes with the crypto pay conversion kit. I'm going to clean the stainless steel outside and put a new vinyl wrap on the outside.
I have a 12 year old Portal TI. It has been great, dependable and has a lot of options to use. My only issue is it won’t pass PCI Compliance anymore. DRB says since it’s an old obsolete system they can’t make changes to get it to pass. This is the only reason we are thinking of replacing it. I wish it could use Cryptopay but that’s not an option.
Were you able to integrate a loyalty system? I think a barcode reader would be needed? I’m interesting in updating my Gold Line for a new 3-4 option Razor with a buy up. However I want to use some sort of loyalty program (not a monthly pass at this time).I'm installing a new Razor and re-using my 15 year old Hamilton Gold Line. it has been a great machine and relatively trouble free over the last 15 years. You can do all of that with a Portal Ti. For the Gold Line, you would have to install some hardware like Coinless or Touch4Wash in order to do any sort of loyalty program.

Id imagine sticking with the same vendor would be more cost effective, right? We have a Portal TI and upgrading it to a Portal TI + when the Razor gets installed. I kind of did a loyalty program for about a year now by giving a code and setting it up to be when they bought 4 washes the 5th was free. Didn’t promote it a lot but will start it up again when the new systems are up and running. Portal is nice, don’t need additional hardware.
Yes in the case with the Portal TI, the functionality is already in the software. No extra cost or monthly fees to use it.Id imagine sticking with the same vendor would be more cost effective, right?
To upgrade, I assume you have to change out the whole pay station? We have a Portal TI and upgrading it to a Portal TI + when the Razor gets installed. I talked to a sales person in regards to upgrading our existing Portal TI to a Portal TI+ Vs buying a new one and the cost difference wasn’t enough to do an upgrade. It made more sense to do an entire replacement. To upgrade, I assume you have to change out the whole pay station?
