It would surprise me a lot less if it was done by the installer. I hadn't thought about that possibility.
In the wild west days of the late 90s early 2000s, it was nuts the crap being done. I can think of one site in Florida that was so quickly and poorly done that the automatic portion of the building was actually pulling away from the rest of the building in 6 months, the self serve was a cobbled mess, they put in a 2200 gpd RO for a 4 &1, they ran 12 gauge wire to vacuums, used whatever hosing and tubing they had lying around(lots of coupling/splices), etc. We spent a TON on hotels and flights sending some of around to places after the fact.

The good news is that the vast majority of those dealers are gone or dying on the vine. I actually see a lot more competence in the field than I did even 10 years ago.

I was told today that when using high pressure, liquid is coming out of the regulator. I assume that regulator is used to throttle pressure for the medium pressure functions, but I am not sure how it's setup. What would cause it to leak? Bad regulator, or another cause?

That unit doesn't have medium pressure. It's most likely just a shot regulator.

Depends on which regulator too. If it's coming out of the high pressure regulator, it's just bad, not a real problem. If liquid is coming out of one of the low pressure regulators, that's a bad check valve at the boom, and you won't even get that, so not a problem for you.

From what I understood, it's the one right next to the pressure gauge in the photo I posted of the pump.

Mep is exactly right.Im actually experiencing that problem with my Champion Ginsan System. I'm getting liquid out of my air side regulator on the top of the manifold. I've checked all the check valves on the top going to the boom hoses.is there anymore that I'm missing?

FWIW ... I tend to squirm when "whatever manufacturer" goes into an unnecessary overly protective "proprietary" info stance. This especially applies to the laundromat side of my business. Based on experience ... so far I have not seen that with Dan Kamsickas & his team. Don't get me wrong ... I am for properly applied patent protection!

I am in the middle of major support interaction (possible electrical noise causation) with a phoenixcontact certified safety PLC Relay support expert. What it is boiling down to is to make an effort to keep the solution as reasonably affordable as possible! Wow ... there are even "potential self inflicting destructive" technicalities when it comes to properly transferring the memory stick (program holding) to a brand new brand new relay. BTW ... it looks like around $1000 current retail cost for the specific relay. I have a spare ... ready to transfer the over 25 wire inputs & outputs ... but it looks like that spare will have to be replaced ... ouch to the cost. Intermittent (not black & white) problems seem like always being the biggest challenges! I do like the "rag-tag git r done solution oriented" mindset of my fellow car wash owners!
