Just completed our new Profile install. It’s a beast in comparison to our Razors. A combo of a true double arm double barrel with a with very soft cloth. Very excited to see the customer experience and reactions. Has anyone with a Profile offered a touch free wash package as an option? Debating offering three soft cloth wash packages and one top of the line touch free wash as we have more people use the TF vs the SC (60/40) to help balance the load imbalance. Anyone with hands on experience with the profile having tried this approach?

Congratulations - post some pics - it’d be great to see the new machine. Is the Profile set up to be a combo machine and offer a totally TF wash? I know it has a lot of HP components, but didn’t know that programming would allow a completely TF wash, complete with full presoak coverage and HP to every part of the car.
Good luck with the new Profile!

Experimenting with it as a combo. Not clear if a good idea or not. Programming well you can program any computer to do what you wish. HP Arms do not pass the 1/2 way point and do not apply chemicals plus you need to create a soak or dwell time so not intended for TF (today if WW listening) but I can see how it can be a combo unit. Will update after the vote is evaluated.

We replaced the center Aerodryer with two new center dryers on a cross bar. The aero dryers take up a lot of floor space. We had to remove the center one so it could be moved to be in line with the side dryers. Got us an extra 4’ of bay length for the profile which requires a long bay.

Well it’s only my opinion but I don’t think consumers want anything touching their car. I can clean any car with touch less And get clean shiny cars in under a minute. In the process of setting up two Petit automatics. Can send pictures when done.

I’m sure there are some for sure, Mac, but when I see 15-20 cars stacked up at Pay Stations for Express Exteriors, I’m not sure if everyone is on the touch free page just yet.

It’d be great to see the pics - please do send them when you are done.

Could not see center ones in picture. Why keep the side dryers and not hang new elephant ear dryers from the same bar your center dryers are on?

Are you washing cars yet? Read another post a while back that when cars are not centered correctly on the profile the machine will not run and it will have to be manually reset. I remember on your Istobal you had a giant sticker that said "do not drive through brushes if machine quits". Every machine has its faults. Im curious which is a less headache though, the Profile or the Istobal.

He has both and there will always be a desire for both. Most touchless customers are strictly touchless. Most soft cloth customers that have been through a touchless will never go through one again. Around me touchless car washes started coming around as a extra income for gas stations. Needless to say those gas station owners had no idea what they were getting into. Almost all became run down/abandoned and gave touchless car washes a bad reputation. To find a good touchless ran properly is like they say a needle in a haystack. Most customers just want their car clean and nothing can match the throughput of a tunnel. No one wants to wait 30 minutes for a car wash with only 4 cars in line. The conveyor concept perfected by Henry Ford is still the fastest way to process anything. However if you run a good touchless, you do not need to run 50K-100k cars a year to make a good profit since you do not have any payroll and are open 24/7. You become the employee though.

No you can't. Theres no such thing as CLEANING a car with a touchless in under a minute. Just FYI Petits are overrated. They are the second fastest machine on the market and FAR from first.

Blanco, I'm guessing you're thinking the Oasis Typhoon?
I have kinda heard Petit is overrated & overpriced. But, I can't say from personal ownership.

Profile has an auto home feature and resets itself on a major fault. Cannot compare a Profile to an Istobal. Both clean well but difference is customer and owner experience. Just fine tuning the wash packages now but overall a great upgrade for us.

I am intrigued by the Petit but hard to make that leap as they have few installations near us and I will not purchase a $200k plus machine without trying it a few times with my vehicles. At some point that limited installation base will change.

Frankly if IBA manufacturers continue with their price increases which happens as they are purchased by equity investors more SS/IBA locations will be converted into other types of businesses as the purchase numbers will become harder to justify.

We now have 2 bays -- one with a Profile and one with a Razor. We offer all 4 of our pkgs. on both machines. The Razor was just recently installed, having gone into service in early Sept. So far, we are still seeing more use of the Profile than the Razor. But this is South Texas and those guys in the pick-ups love those brushes.

Do you offer a package on the profile that does not use the brushes? That is what we are considering. Our packages on the razor and profile are the same in terms of chemicals but debating the merits of having a single top package on the profile that does not use brushes.

I didn't know you could have a pkg. without brushes on the Profile.

Yes easy to do. We only use the brushes on one pass since they clean really well on just one pass. The challenge is getting good pre soak coverage and then creating dwell time. The more we experiment the more I think it is not wise to make a TF package on the profile.

I agree. The purpose of the Profile is to use the brush system; and the Razor for a touchless. That's we have both; and the customers have a choice. Our lowest pkg. just does 1 pass; and the others all do 2 on both both machines.
