Looking for advice on the better product of these 2. They are very close in price, I have a 6 bay that I'm looking to add these to in January. I have seen that Air shammee offers in attic mount that seems like it would be a better look and possibly less upkeep

in one wash we used an attic mount dryer system (Air Shamee) and the other we used an in bay wall mount. Easier to check or service if mounted in the bay. The Air Shamee works great. I believe the main difference is their guns. One uses a trigger and the other uses a one piece design that does not have a trigger. Trigger version just offers one more thing that a customer can break by careless use so we recommend the one piece hand gun.

In attic Air Shamee. I have 8 at one site and 4 at another. I wouldn't see why you would want those motors and everything hanging in a wet bay? And working in an attic over a ladder somedays is a welcomed opportunity. I check them twice a year, but really you can tell when they need a little working on just by running them, and air shamee is just like a Vac!

They are designed and rated for use in wet environments. Not that different from when we have several 10 or 15 hp blowers in our bays and tunnels - and some operators have the blowers for their automatic mounted outside the bay. Personally, I would prefer having the Air Shamee (or whatever brand you choose) in the bay to facilitate access.

In 2018, I went with Diskin's Air Shammee II, that has 1 - 4.5HP motor, mounted on my 5 bay walls. Our dryers get a lot of use. $10k investment was paid off in 3 months (per hour meters). Over the past 4 years we have improved their system as we found flaws... It might be over-kill but it's eliminated complaints from customers and increased customer satisfaction!
  • Added SS elbow (from Mosmatic) because hose clamp was cutting into the hose.
  • Added plastic vacuum cuffs to the elbow with self-tapping screws to help the hose stay on the boom elbow
  • Upgraded the hose clamps on the hoses. The original ones weren't strong enough to tighten around plastic corrugated dryer hose.
  • Added in-line swivel (Mosmatic)on the boom plate because short hose would kink when the boom was used.
  • Replaced their nozzle with Air Logics nozzle. Diskin's nozzle has an inner baffle that restricts the air flow & the back pressure caused a lot of problems (holes in hoses, hoses blowing off the end of the boom, rivets falling out of the nozzle). Also, customers didn't like holding the trigger while using.
  • Upgraded their sign with liability risk due to higher air speed.
  • Remounted the boom bracket through the concrete bay wall using 10" bolts, to support the added weight and welded the boom sections together.
  • Added 3' boom extension (from Mosmatic) to reduce stress on the dryer hose & better reach over customers vehicle.
  • Upgraded wand holder

The Diskins are designed for in-bay use. The motors have sealed bearings. Their new motor cover has solid sides. I've been using for 4 years now & have not had a problem with their motors or water abuse.

After 4 years of process improvement, I feel that I can finally relax. We have built a BETTER mousetrap & customers are happy. It's been quite a journey & hopefully I can spare my fellow operators some grief & headaches! 😀

Diskin should hire you to re-engineer parts of their design!

Lol! Now that's FUNNY!! 🤣 When I bought my Diskin system, Troy Diskin at first was very sympathetic to our problems. He was confused & told me "no one else was having these issues!" I sent him text messages with photos but he offered few solutions. He stopped replying to my texts. But I'm positive, tenacious & solution-oriented. Through a lot of research & trials, my boyfriend & I have engineered solutions that have solved the design issues. I have learned that salesman are NOT engineers!! 👍 😃

I have learned that salesmen are not engineers, engineers are not service techs, and service techs are not salesmen.

Apologies for the off-topic question, but does anyone with dryers have trouble with people opening up the car doors and blowing the trash out into the bays?

Made many of same refinements as Ms. Berg. Primarily Stainless Elbow and Swivel cuffs. I Dust tape hose onto end of cuff because in hot weather the hose gets pliable and comes out easily. I don't want it too secure in case a car hooks it I want it to come apart.

I'd love to, but I keep getting an error that my photos are too large. Do you know how to add photos or recommend software to link photos?

Dropbox. You Can make a free account that is size limited to maybe 100MB total. Then provide a public link to them.
