Ok so I was checking things out today and tire cleaner totally out. In the past it was just the pump losing prime or air pressure too high, I could just shut off air for a bit and it's good. Now even with air off not a trickle out the gun. The psi gauge on solenoid bank is going higher than normal up near 100 psi and the procyon pump is getting quite hot. Is it the pump? I think I have a spare or 2

I forgot to mentioned I checked solenoid and it was working, this is on all bays. If it's the pump it wouldn't be able to push psi so high right?

I guess I'll be checking plungers tomorrow. Doesn't seem like the pump would get hot and push the pressure gauge so high if it were not doing its job. The 2 solenoid blocks are between pump and gauge so it going up and down suggests free path there... Just so odd for all to get blocked overnight.

If your getting pressure on the gauge there's nothing wrong with the and all of your bays are doing the same thing you've got a problem with solenoid bank. First thing you should is to check for power on the solenoids. If you have power at the solenoids check the plungers on the valves. If you have a strainer or filter on the inlet of the pump you might also check that.

Yeah plunger check will be first thing. I didn't screwdriver test them all but they feel like they are engaging.

You may have a failed check valve in a bay that has allowed pressure back into the tire cleaner system. The solenoids can't open with more than 100 PSI behind them, so they're locked closed. Try cracking the fitting open at the pump, and the gauge should drop to zero. You will still need to find which check valve or it will do it again.

The source of pressure being the HP functions in the affected bay?

Ok, spent time working on this and ran out of parts. I started by trying the function confirming its not under pressure, straight away pushing 90psi... ok cut off air for now and remove plungers 1 at a time running each bay; now I have flow to all yay right? Not so fast, now 4/6 bays are flowing product when the motor is on (all solenoids off) lovely! I'm out of fresh plungers so still down. Interesting that the seals on these plungers receded in instead of swelling like the wax ones.

Which is better, putting it out of order or thinning the mix down some and eating the cost of chemical loss while it's leaky?

I'd let it leak. It doesn't run unless a bay is on tire cleaner, right?

Messed with one of the blocks too much... now it won't take any of the stems I have. Probably going to have to swap that block out which is a pain.

I also learned where I should have looked when I had to change a switch and needed the color legend. Was able to get it together enough not to be leaking so long as noone fired up the motor. Knowing the color wire I disabled the function at the bay.

Unrelated but it looks like chemicals are bleeding into each other in the tanks!

I think I want to take tire cleaner off the HP line and through one of those round foam brushes. You don't need a foamer right? Just connect air and product to a coil hose?

That's how mine are set up, yes you need a foamer.

IMO you don't NEED a foamer, but it will help the product foam and it will help keep it from spitting when it first comes on.

I realized my tire cleaner function is engine cleaner too... better to use foam gun instead of the brush?

I'm torn over it.. I'd like to get people using the tire brush for wheels but want people to still be able to degrease engines... anyone tether a wheel brush in bay somewhere that doesn't foam?
