If you had oil floating in the top of a bay pit how would you clean it out?
Ha!!! I like that idea!here in redneck country we use a match
(just kidding!)
I used a match on gasoline in the pit once - figured it was better than risking someone driving over it and igniting it under their car somehow.PaulLovesJamie said:here in redneck country we use a match

Where are you buying them?well I don't call them oil socks, more like " elephant tampons".Keep one in every sump and well worth the money.
Randy,Once a month I dump a cap full of oil eating Microbes into each bay and into the oil water separator. There’s never any oil or grease in any of the tanks and the water doesn’t get that stinky smell in the summer. I think it also helps keep the drain lines clear. Since I started using the Microbes I don’t have to have my oil water separator pump as often, about once every 3 years and it doesn’t have any oil in it just muck.
