Our worst biz choice yet. Are they pretty, yes. Can Ron & Phil talk the talk, hell yes. Is the unit reliable, no. Is it easily repairable on-site by yourself, no. Are you locking yourself into a closed software ecosystem, sadly yes.
Going Dencar is our absolute worst business decision. From keep-it-in-the-cloud to subStandard components from China, Phil &Ron while good guys...got way over their skis. Ya wanta see the little guys win, but they gear is simply too fragile for this biz.
Tylerwash, fyi only, I'm about to ditch my Dencar unit for an ICS or Hamilton model. While we all want to see a garage band (Ron & Phil) do well against the big uglies - how long does an IBA operator, living beyond service truck driving distance (Ohio-ish?), have to deal with replacing the...
Also a huge fan of Tom Petit's gear....never thought to hire dancers for my sites. Might lose my soccer mom customers. We'll disagree on the rest, and plenty of unhappy folks choose to remain silent for fear of retribution.
Agree, memberships are a box of fleas. wish I'd have stayed straight single wash setup. too old to deal with all the extra crap nec for members. wishing for that ol simple life back ...
Tom Petit makes a great IBA, regretting that I paired it with a Dencar: hella over-priced vs other pay stations, big monthly fee, and now that they are selling more units...Ron & Phil refuse to answer email and telephone questions any more. Must be nice...once you're rich and have hooked...
Nope, no sir. That's it - you are out of the circle of trust. I can abide Canadians, Texans, even the occasional brit... but a follower of That Team Up North - too much. no. I'll be sending a request to Tom/James and Phil/Ron to permanently embargo the entire state of ichigan. Or, you can admit...
Definitely a mixed bag: love,, the growing potential of a Dencar kiosk to market via single use QR codes, the stainless steel box is excellent, the screen interface v professional in appearance and flow, VIAguard is a useful tool esp with the Membership focus. dislike,, monthly software fee of...
hi Ryan, nobody wants to whack on a startup company,, willing to TRY and compete w Unitex/Hamilton/bigBoys etc. Still, the issues range from annoyance to serious pathway and time/$ drains. Everyone likes Ron and Phil, personally. Hell, I want them to win...but my patience and wallet are wearing...
Could not disagree (respectfully) more about Dencar. It's been an expensive nightmare. I'm actively researching how to replace the electronics inside with ANYTHING else...and just keep the shiny box (it's good-looking, for sure)
Wish I had researched exectly where Dencar was at in their vision. So frustrating...and no where near the suggested cost/benefit ratio. A bad decision on my part.
