haha, we say the same to our customers. we compare express washes to the fast food chains of the car wash business. quick and easy, but you don't go to McDonalds when you want a "great burger".
That is exactly what we do. And for the same reason. I haven’t seen that done anywhere else. The few full services I know still around charge 70-80 dollars a month for unlimited interiors. That was never going to work for my customers or my work force.
we started our monthly memberships a little under 2 years ago and it’s been a huge hit. We do it a little differently tho. Something I haven’t seen before. We don’t offer interior services as a part of the membership. Since labor is always a battle for a full service the thought of people...
I agree with this. As expresses continue to pop up and full services convert...there is just not a lot of competition or options to get the windows and vacuuming done for you. People have come to realize that if they want these services they are going to pay for it. I run a full service car...
Thank you. That is what I thought too. I just hear so many customers complain and say it comes clean everywhere else that eventually I start to question myself. I believe since 99% of car washes are express now, they just do not see the car completely dried as a finished a result like they do at...
Does anybody have any car wash components or methods to get the black plastic trim on cars clean without using some type of dressing?
I have a conveyor, full service car wash. It seems like more and more cars are coming with more and more plastic. The cars are coming out very clean except by...
This sounds very similiar to us. We are in the chicago suburbs. We are still currently in that cars lined up all day, sometimes wrapping into street traffic because no matter how many guys we get, its never enough. In addition to our long time customers we get a lot of customers with memberships...
Looks like the issue is finally fixed. After 6 months of no ghost washes I finally feel confident saying that. I replaced my input card in my controller. My old input card tested and looked fine to the naked eye, but something must have been off with it. I had several people look at it and just...
i agree there is a market for it, I even think the market is growing as it becomes more and more rare. We have been in business for 21 years, and we just came off four consecutive best years.
23-25 employees on a normal day? that's awesome. HOW are you doing that?. Since the pandemic, we have...
@carwashmd It actually hasn't happened to me in about a week and a half. I know the issue isn't resolved because sometimes it can go a month without happening, and sometimes it will happen 20 times in a week. I have someone coming out for a few upgrades to our wash at the end of this month, and...
Yea we have talked about making the vacs pay for use if we did convert. I like that idea.
No pay stations? so do you use a cashier and a booth at tunnel entrance? about how many employees do you staff on an average day if you don't mind me asking?
Exactly what you said. Old school Full service. We do everything, including loading your car on conveyor. We don't really have building or property set up for a true flex service. It fits much more along the design of an express. We have implemented different things to try and become a version...
Id like to hear from anyone that has converted their full service car wash into an express? (was it worth it? regret? things youd change or do over?)
How is the current market for selling full service car washes? (i know there's a million variables, but in general. are people still looking to...
