    New Touchless Tunnel

Mike, Thanks for the kind words. And yes we have a nice southern exposure, get sun all day making it nice and bright in the tunel. We've gotten a lot of nice comments on the site. Volumes are doing well for a new wash and hitting my projected numbers.

    New Touchless Tunnel

Briteauto - The sun came out yesterday for a short bit and I snaped a couple of shots for you but can't get them posted. If you would like to give me your e-mail I can send them.

Bubbles - You need THEIR vent kit. It should be concentric, and within their run lengths one pipe inside the other. You need your make up air also from the same pipe. Never mind that the stack temp is quite high and PVC pipe will melt very quickly. I strongly suggest that if you are not sure...

Briteauto - Thanks Mike for the supporting words. Just got back from Vegas and when the sun returns I'll take some shots and post. Hopefully the grass seed won't get washed out.

Buzzie8 - At this point we have not needed to do anything proactive ie: signage or handouts. We have developed a small handout but as of yet we have not seen the need to use it. (part of our 7P's practice). We do love to chat with our customers especially the ones that get out after their wash...

    New Touchless Tunnel

Captin CW - The arches are Belanger along with the conveyor. Jeff L - As far as the leaves, not so much of a problem. With this customer (he's a lobster man) it was the spoils from his bait barrels left in the truck bed. What a stench!!! But by the looks of it he likes a clean truck and he...

    New Touchless Tunnel

Bubbles Galore - The tunnel is 100 Ft running at 80 CPH. Total as in everything? Well then there's the land $150K. Then we had to bring in 6000 yards of fill for the site work (did the site work ourselves) $192K. The building (It's really nice) $223K. Equipment (Every thing in) $323K...

    New Touchless Tunnel

Mac - We started out using Simoniz, lots of samples (still use Simoniz at our other wash). Good but not what I was looking for. Then switched over to C.A.R. Products (Thunder & Lightning) good depth of shine and clean finish, without the inherent problems of higher titrations. Understand that...

    New Touchless Tunnel

We just uploaded the first video of our new touchless tunnel this was taken in Feb 12 just before we opened. We were still dialing things in but very satisfied with our quality. My hope is to upload a new one in a short bit to show a couple of neat things we did. Also a couple of changes to...

    Flexible Gas Lines

**********FYI...it is less than 200k btu so it falls outside of required state inspections, but no reason to have them get all excited if I can avoid it.*********** There are no BTU exemptions from the NFPA coeds and this is what your insurance company will go by if there is a situation...

    Flexible Gas Lines

There are federal codes in NFPA 58 & NFPA 54 that deal with this. All states are governed and enforce these codes. The states may also have there own individual caveats. If your state doesn't have gas or solid fuel codes it is then up to the local jurisdictions to enforce. Usually the fire...

    On Demand Pre-Soak Heater

Taco 008 stainless for each pre soak arch (we have two of them) and the .30 CPC includes tunel heat. 2/ 60 ft verberay (sp) tube heaters from airlift. We did have a warm February.

    Thunder & Lightning

Thunder (low ph) titration 1% dwell time 25 sec then Lightning (high ph) titration 1.5% dwell time 35 sec. We also hit it with a low ph foam just prior (3 ft) to the Axis High Pressure Wash to bring the ph back down and we get great water break on the car.

    Thunder & Lightning

Well it's been a little bit more than a month that we've been using the thunder and lightning and without sounding like commercial we are very impressed with the results received. It looks like when the products are mixed on the car between the two presoak arches it seems like there's a...

    On Demand Pre-Soak Heater

You are correct on the .5gpm flow for it to turn on. But with that said most taco models are close to the same price .25 to 3.0 gpm. We found that a 1.0 works fine and use the one that is stainless wet end. Make sure you have a feed check valve and a return flow check installed.

    On Demand Pre-Soak Heater

You just need to put in a circ. pump and have it come on for a bit prior to use. Pm me and I can send pictures of our touchless tunel presoak arches. Chem is not a problem along with air injection. We have our circ. come on when the conveyor starts up. We have a 25 ft run to the arch and it...

    On Demand Pre-Soak Heater

We run both of our washes with only Rinnai heaters. 3 at one (softtouch cloth tunnel) and 2 at the other (touchless tunnel) Work Great at both washes. If you have a on board unit I would pre feed with the Rinnai. The LS 94i has a flow rate of up to 7 gpm and 140 high temp. Full disclosure we...

    foamer/body soap

12 years ago we started going hi/lo with a neutral lubercating soap in the middle feeding mitters and wraps. Worked great improved our drying. 5 years ago we went lo/hi/lo. Low ph pre soak High ph lubercating soap for the wraps and mitters. The new lo ph triple foam just prior to rinse. Basic...
