Poly line size when dispensing TC & FB through Trifoam gun

If the TC & PS are moved so that they dispense from the triple foam gun is it really necessary to use 3/8 poly for the liquids? Currently, I dispense PS & TC from the high-pressure gun and both are fed to the high-pressure boom with 1/4 poly. Is 3/8 really needed?

    Center boom breakaway ideas

We are planning on also installing some entrance restricting barriers as you mentioned. However, what happenes when a roof mounted ladder gets wedged between the building roof and above the pipe/barrier? Perhaps some type of magnetic breakaway.

    Center boom breakaway ideas

We have an ongoing problem with box trucks hitting and damaging our high-pressure booms. Due to the nature of the boom design it protrudes approximately 11 inches below its mounting plate. We want to replace the existing booms with a lower profile boom such as the Mosmatic. Additionally, we want...

Hamilton DRS AE2601 upstacker to Talos part number.

It seems like they retained the 0 to 8 bezels and added three letter designated bezels. KR website shows a T601 which I thought would be the direct replacement. But Hamilton says T6T1 which i believe has the new T bezel. I do not see how the new T bezel is a direct replacement for the 0 bezel...

Hamilton DRS AE2601 upstacker to Talos part number.

Hamilton DRS with AE2601 upstackers. Is there a direct Talos replacement for the AE2601? Hamilton said the part number is a 46-0247 and the corresponding Talos validator referenced by that number, given by Hamilton, is T6T1-U7EUS. The problem is that the Talos part number appears to be a #1...

    Coin acceptor

Does the Secure Coin acceptor reject quarters if it is "blasted" into the coin slot? Perhaps, I had an isolated issue, but when I tried a Secure Coin acceptor the quarters would be rejected if they were not slowly dropped into the coin slot. Is this still the case? I never had that problem with...

    Vac won't shut off.

I had a similar if not the same problem with some new IVS vacuums I purchased around 2000. Sometimes when I arrived at the car wash one of the vacuums would be running continuously even though the timer says to input quarters. When I removed the dome and tapped the relay the vacuum would shut...

    solar street/lot lighting

I was thinking about installing a couple of solar parking lot lights. Has anybody tried this? It would be a challenge to run power to the areas I want to light up so I'm considering going the solar route.

    compressor duty cycle

I was considering a Saylor Beall VT-735-60 air compressor but was told that it has a maximum of 6 on/off cycles per hour. Additionally, I was reading their specifications and if i’m understanding correctly the duty cycle is 70%. I read a number of comments on this site that recommend 100% duty...

    Fonic wash PC 100 dilution

Are you using the same tips for both the high pressure and foam brush? What tip are you using for the presoak? thanks

    Fonic wash PC 100 dilution

After reading all the postive comments iv’e decided to try Fonic PC-100. I will be drawing product straight from a five gallon container using a Hydrominder. The product label says dilute 90:1. I was going to start with a yellow tip and go from there. I also read that some operators pre mix five...

    Compressor CFM per bay

I have an old 60 gal 5hp IR that is nearing the end of its life. Was thinking about a small 30 gal Saylor Beall. I’m just unsure about the CFM requirement and concerned that it may cycle too often. I was also considering a Saylor Beall VT 735 60 gal three phase, but that is probably more...

    Compressor CFM per bay

Is there a rule of thumb when sizing compressor CFM on self-service bays? Looking to size a compressor for an eight-bay self serv (no automatics).

    Thermal relief valve question

What a mess, was the back end of the pump damaged? So what is the consensus here; pop-off valve, thermal valve, or both?

    Thermal relief valve question

If your Regulator is working properly why do you need a pop off valve(I assumed you are referencing a pressure relief valve)? The regulator will just bypass the water back to the pump inlet In the event of a clogged tip.

    Thermal relief valve question

The idea was to protect the pump in the event the tip became clogged. However, since I'm using regulators, I do not see the point in installing pressure relief valves. In the event a tip becomes clogged, the water will circulate through the regulator back to the pump inlet. There may or may not...

    Thermal relief valve question

I spoke with Cat technical support. They recommended that instead of using a thermal relief valve it would be better to use a pressure relief valve. In the event a tip becomes clogged, the increase in pressure should open the pressure relief valve allowing cooler water to enter the pump. We run...

    Thermal relief valve question

Yes, hot water soap and wax. Why do you ask? Does it make a difference? My previous plant was gravity fed for all functions and did not have thermal relief valves. Over the years, I had numerous plugged tips but never had any damage to the pumps (General).

    Thermal relief valve question

I’m rebuilding a pumping plant and replacing all the high pressure pumps. The rinse cycle is pressure fed and the high pressure soap and wax are gravity fed. How effective would it be to install thermal relief valves? I was thinking that they would be effective on the pressure fed cycle but...

    cat 5cp2120 vs 310

I recently installed two new 5cp2021 pumps on a seven bay stand. The two new 5cp pumps are so much louder than the other five pumps I wondering if there is a problem. Is it normal for cat pumps to be noisy during the break in period? Im also wondering if the 310 pumps are better than the 5cp2120...
