The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

It looks like I will be making a trip within our little city right now... to prepare for tomorrow ... to both Ace Hardware & Lowes with a sample of our in stock 3/8" ID - 1/2" OD poly tubing just in case the original plastic compression fittings will need replacing & actual rerouting since the...

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

On the below pic of the brand new membrane through the shipping plastic you can see a groove but no seal inside of the groove ... unlike the other end which as some kind of an o'ring ... possibly the V-seal you are referring to?

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

Thanks Russ for your response. We know we are within water pressure specs etc so it probably has something to do with the charcoal tank being brand new & not 100% rinsed etc. The charcoal was pre-installed from the company we bought it from. We just had to mount the Fleck manual backflush...

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

The carbon tank is as said in a previous post .... definitely BACKWASHING capable. We did rearrange our piping-hoses so the 5 micron pre-filter is AFTER our brand new charcoal filter & just before the still old CA membrane. The brand new TFC membrane will hopefully be completely installed...

    Pick-Ups/Trailers etc.

When the mess is oily &/or glass-nails etc ... much worse than just a small amount of leaves, grass or similar etc. Crazy event happened 2 weeks ago ... some perp left a filled 23 qt Walmart container with all 4 ports open (not plugged) dangling on a garbage barrel located right next to an...

    Air Dryer guns

Earl & others, The stainless steel welded on sweep elbow that shows in my previous post's pic was such a tight fit for the 2" hose ... with using one of the better more industrial clamps ... I only worry if th the hose itself tears & lets loose that way. The fabricator told us that the weld...

    Air Dryer guns

I notice on Kim's pic that specifically shows her Diskin wall boom. something. The boom appears to span 5 x 16" blocks ... which means that our Mosmatic boom are almost a yard longer. 7x 16" blocks. Any thoughts on the longer lengths from anyone? My original Southern Pride air guns look...

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

Any suggestions on possibly repurposing he Osmonics 4" x 40" extra heavy duty (quality constructed) Stainless Steel Osmonics Vessel? Our city has lowered the pH of its water so maybe the pH buffering process can be eliminated. Charcoal filter is not needed for CA ... that is advantage to a...

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

Thanks Russ we appreciate your input! We also made sure we buffered the pH for the CA since 1987 & have eliminated that & now have the charcoal filter installed. It seems like the CA membranes are less common & possibly more expensive. It looks like the wisest move will be to invest in a...

The ends on most 4 x 40 RO Membranes???

We took out the Cellulose Acetate (CA) 4 x 40 Membrane from our Specialty Equipment RO unit. It has an open hole on both ends which I consider as female on both ends. We assumed that there was standard in the RO industry for 4 x 40 Membranes that they would all have the same type of ends as the...

    Charcoal RO Pre-Filter Transition

Back in 1987 Specialty Equip installed a complete RO-Spot Free system ... but with a CA membrane (a hyper chlorine sensitivity problem). We followed with a pH reducing Acid System. Now we are going to transition to a TFC membrane to avoid unnecessary extra expense of the 4"x40" CA membrane...

    Charcoal RO Pre-Filter Transition

Hopefully someone here can somewhat verify that I am choosing the proper backflush Carbon Pre Filter with the best quality automatic controls. I was hoping I could order an acceptable "Turnkey Carbon Pre-filter Portion" of a car wash 4"x40" membrane RO-Spot Free System from KR along with a...

Concern to Car Washes CLA Laundromat Forum Thread?

Larry Adamski May 22, 2022 7:29 AM Larry Adamski Glenn, My limited understanding of credit card rules is that an EMV (chip) card trumps a non EMV card reader. Any chargeback dispute will be automatically won by the EMV card user. Most credit cards today are EMV cards thus shutting off...

    2 Way Audio in bays

Wyze has 2 way audio. It would be nice to come up with a straightforward way to increase the 2 way audio's sound volume though ... especially to try to talk over a car stereo system &/or the car wash's nozzle noise etc. Any suggestions on the ability to increase the base volume of a whatever 2...

    Hate crimes

Just to add ... defining a "a crime motivated by hate" sometimes is so politically self serving subjective. Like edredtop said can be extremely hazardous & increases the destructiveness of a crime! Just ask some of the numerous small businesses that were closed for many months in the south...

    New Mud Bay Idea

We do try to steer "the regulars" who tend to have mud under their wheel wells to a specific deeper pit which is our truck bay. They try to comply somewhat so that info spoken to them does help!
