    JC - Manifold Plunger Stuck

All the super saver stands I have seen have a water storage tank that is usually fed with hot water located on the pump stand. Not everyone uses hot water so it may be fed with cold water in your case. Cold water rinse is pressure fed through a manifold. The soap wax and medium pressure presoak...

    IBA/tunnel

I've heard 30% drop in total site revenue from an IBA/SS is pretty common.

    JC - Manifold Plunger Stuck

If the level of your hot water holding tank is lower than the level of the chemical tanks gravity would prevent the dilution you describe from taking place. If water is backflowing in your product tanks it's likely coming from your cold water rinse solenoids. They are located low on the pump...

WW2.0 prox sensor PNP vs NPN

Wizards use NPN. I use these with reasonable success. Cheap enough that if I suspect a problem I just replace them. https://www.automationdirect.com/adc/shopping/catalog/sensors_-z-_encoders/inductive_proximity_sensors/18mm_tubular/pnk-an-4h

    SS PM List

What are you having to rebuild every Month? I can't think of anything that needs to be replaced on a regular basis in the car wash other than wear items such as hoses, brushes, etc.

    Cat 310 valve replacement

I salute you guys that do preventative maintenance. Put me in the camp of no preventative maintenance done, except the occasional oil change when I'm struggling to find something for an employee to do to stay busy. I'm pretty sure most of the valves in my 23 year old pumps are the originals. I...

Will need more info. Is there one weep solenoid for all foam brushes? Are they controlled by a weep thermostat?

    Pump Replacement

Seal replacement in cat 5CP plunger pump is a piece of cake. The 310s need a seal case removal tool, but the 5CPs seal cases just pop out. I think you'll be happy with them.

Looking for a New System IBA

There are indeed simpler machines out there. I'm not real familiar with all offerings on friction IBA washes. My only experience has been istobal and a coleman fusion X. Both used electronics in some form to sense brush pressure on the vehicle and back off if excessive resistance is detected...

    Hydrominder

Any time I have low flow I clean the inlet screen and change the diaphragm and that usually fixes it The diaphragms are available individually for just a few bucks.

Looking for a New System IBA

I'm not familiar with the tracer but Istobal has a factory presence in Bristol Va, that I have visited. They probably had 30 machines there in various stages of assembly. I have had zero problems getting any parts I need. 48K cars so far and I have had to replace the wheels once and gearboxes...

    Securing Pit Grates

Check the local scrapyard. At a wash I had that problem at I just drilled a masonry anchor in the side of the pit near the top and attached a chain to grate.

My US Marine son needs some advice

Aluminum brightener on chrome. Basically similar to what we use to wash walls. It's HF acid based. KR may stock meguiars wheel brightener Industrial wash suppliers or detailing suppliers should be able to help. Not for use on polished aluminum- he needs to know the difference.

    Tire cleaner replacement

I use the same product that I use in the IBA, just about 40% weaker. I tell people to spray it on their paint all the time when they park under trees and get sap on their vehicle. We do have high humidity here so flash drying is not a problem.

    Tire cleaner replacement

Tire cleaner is more popular than presoak. You don't have to worry about damaging modern clear coated surfaces. Put in a good product and run it strong enough to work well and your customers will use it. If it ends up just being green foam that doesn't clean well it will not be used as much.

Looking for a New System IBA

I don't see a list of vendors that you've gotten quotes from. Find out what your local support options are also. Ive got an istobal friction unit and have been pretty pleased overall with wash quality.

    Trashed Bays

You guys can rig up something simple with a home automation system like yolink. They sell a tiny wifi relay that will handle 5 amps. just kill the power to the timer or (better yet) just open the timed output circuit. Would cost $25 for the hub and $25 for each device you want to control. I...

    Trashed Bays

It takes a lot of time and patience to train your customers. Some say it’s not worth it and just tolerate it. Some look forward to the business and will happily clean it up. To discourage the unwanted activity you have to be willing to spend time on site and learn when the offenders come in...
