    Sideways Rollers

Don't know your conveyor model. But here is a short course for many: "Fork" attached to air cylinder. Cylinder extends and raises Fork. Lift out(s) rides on top of Fork. and are raised by fork . Rollers are lifted by riding on lift out. Possible issues. (SEE LAST FIRST) A. Fork is...

    Chicago ICA- thoughts on going

Luv the so called experts who keynote. At least the Kinko's guy talked about his experiences instead of trying to pretend that he knew about the car wash business. If the Speaker autored a book I always tried to read it ahead of time. One of the keynote Speakers, chip Bell wrote "Beep...

What type of material do you use? Why?

Have cloth on all mine. Only negative i have is noise on the Belanger whip across and Sonny's FTB 901. AVW's move in a circular fashion so there is no noise / slap sound. Now start the Sonny's when front bumper is under curtain to minimize slap on front. Still some slap on rear. Went to a...

What's the longest your wash has been closed due to weather?

We also use tarps in clod weather on the outside. We use some jumk tires to weight it down. A couple of times I put a cheap box fan pointing into the trench isnside top blow warmed air from the building into the trench. The tarp tends to keep it in. There may have bben some record snow...

What type of material do you use? Why?

We do a fair amount of Taxis with large rooftop ads. This required retracing top brushes which all but eliminated top cleaning. This required changing to mitters. The Sonny's package was set up for cloth. I may yet, as I did at one place replace lower details with filament. Or perhaps...

What type of material do you use? Why?

Since my 2008 post, at the end of 2012 all equip was replaced with cloth except for tops of RS wrap I put in foam due to antennae issues. The main motivator was taxi roof top ads and Top Brushes not liking each other.

    Chicago ICA- thoughts on going

Well, I guess I am one of the few forum members who will attend, but then I have a cheap room available. I will not go to any educational sessions. They do not appeal to me. Looks like lots of buzzwords and goobledygook. Lots of experts with no car wash knowledge. I'd like to see sessions...

Armor All chemicals for your tunnell?

If you drink the Kool aid and believe people will beat a path to your door for the brand, or their marketing plans will elp you, then by all means go for it. Stuff I tried was great at reccomended dilutions as are most brands I tried. Came down to how well did stuff work and what kind of show...

    Multi-Location Owners Only

Spend most of the time doing Accounting and Bookkkeeping, making sure on site personnel do what they should have been doing, and point out what they fail to see. Challenges: Constant surprises at long time personnle seeming to miss the obvious. Also some surprises when they thin of a...

For inside the tunnel I like the smooth Glassboard Product. For SS bays the Pebble finish makes Graffitti more diificult.

    Cars Climbing Conveyer Rail

What would that be. From 1 in 50,00o to 1 in 40,000 or what? State Farm is trying to sue me now for one. Van - had 15PSI in LF tire and 60PSI in right Front. One of the first things I check. His fiberglas running board broke. Took photos. Rust holes at rocker panels where they meet running...

    Cars Climbing Conveyer Rail

I have a worn floor at some places and long ago put 24" wide stell diamond plate down the length of the tunnel where passenger tires roll. Some places originaly had drag chain conveyors so the floors had a greater uphill slope. Different than how they are poured now. Replacement conveyors...

    Opinion's on free vac

Tried it at my SS & Tunnel for a month. Just pulled out the coin boxes and made signs for free vacs that said insert quarters and remove them after they drop. Made no difference. For the most part I don't have the addittional room free vacs require. As long as the vacs work well I don't...

    Cars Climbing Conveyer Rail

I rarely, rarely, rarely have an issue but had a Honda Odyssey the other day (also rear wheel push) Usualy I like to check the tire air pressure and drive it a few feet to see if it's pulling. I don't believe in coincidences.
