Weil-McClain CG-5-SPDN Floor Heat Boiler finally puked....

I like to fix what I've got whenever possible. I have a Ray Pak boiler for floor heat. It's 13 years old. A few years ago, I was having an ignition problem so I called a Tech from the propane gas company I buy from. Tech said:"the boiler is on its way out." Frustrated, I called Huron Valley...

Crypto pay ..... Count up or down ?

Count up $ spent is what makes sense to me. The customer knows how much they spent and that is logical to me.

    HP pressure drop through elbows

My hydraulics expert says there is not enough resistance and that going from a solid 90 to 2 45's won't make a difference.

Looking to purchase an existing wash!

This deal is a non-starter without the land. I also own apartments and agree that for an investment of half a million dollars I would buy more apartments. You get the land and building and add to your equity as you pay down mortgage. It's also alot more passive income than the car wash. With...

Ok, I'm going to admit I am looking at Chinese IBAs...

My first piece of equipment was bought based on price. My Superior Side Trac was about $75,000 new. Made in Phoenix, AZ. With 100k washes on it, I have to say I am happy with my decision. However, my next machine will be made by one of the major US car wash manufacturers. Price is just one...

    Sewer Problem

Tomorrow I get to troubleshoot a Valmatic #48A. Like this: http://www.valmatic.com/airreleaseww.html Evidence points to my wastewater making it to the manhole that contains this Valve. Tomorrow I'm having the manhole pumped out for inspection / service / backwashing / repair. The manhole is...

    Sewer Problem

My plumber made a thaw tube; it's a 50' polytube attached to a garden hose spigot. I hook a hose to my hot water and feed the poly tube into the sewer line out via a 1/2" nipple installed by plumber. A cap threads on to nipple when not in use.

    Sewer Problem

City Sewer Dept. said the sewer backup was my responsibility; 13 years ago when my wash was built I paid for a 720' sewer extension that tied into the town's connection on an adjacent street. However, a contractor friend looked and found my car wash soap and suds backing up in the manhole...

    Presoak, Shaving Cream or Runny

I like to run my presoak heavy and rich. I use an economical blend of Simoniz products that I mix myself, so I really load it on the car. It looks good and does a nice job.

    Sewer Problem

I have a hose coupled to the sewer line going out of the tank. Turned gate valves off so water can only flow in the direction away from sewer tank. Turned on city water wide open. Now I'm waiting to see if this steady pressure will clear the obstruction.

What blade for Chop Saw to make my own hoses?

Yes I have an angle grinder too and it has seen alot of use! The hose making machine is at a friend's garage. He makes hydraulic lines for firewood processors and other things / projects. We split the cost of the machine and I offered to bring a spare chop saw I had. I got it for free from a...

car wash floor freezing up bad

FWIW: My floor heating boiler has a Spirovent like this :http://www.spirotherm.com/products/air-elimination plumbed in. It seems to work great. When I install a new furnace in my apartment building I plan to include a spirovent. I think it will reduce instances of the heat not making it to...

    Sewer Problem

I'm waiting for an employee so I can remove a cap and test the pumps one at a time. If I verify there is flow from both of my pumps, I'm going to connect a hose and see if I can use city pressure to build pressure with gate valves closed ( so all water must go out towards street and away from...

    Sewer Problem

I have a 2000 gal tank with 2 grinder pumps to handle sewer. I started to get high water alarms mid way thru a busy wash day. I had a drain company take a look. They said I had one pump not working at all and one barely working. They gave a very high quote to fix, so I bought pumps myself...

    KR- Excessive Shipping Charges

I just wait until I need $750 or more in parts / chems / vending. It's not hard to do and most of the items don't go bad. When I first got my wash, friends would recommend buying pallet orders at a time and I couldn't imagine that! Now, 13 years into the 'journey', I can hop on the Kleen -...
