    Grace for Vets

That's exactly how I feel. I had an uncle who died a week ago. He was in the Army and I dedicated the whole event to his memory and it felt really good.

    missed opportunity or money pit???

I like RPH's idea of fixing what you already have (touchfree). That could put you back in a comfortable budget for rehab.

Delayed High Pressure from Cat 3535

could be a soleniod leaking by a bit etc. that caused the siphoning effect. happens over time sometimes.

    Truck wash pricing

There have been several discussions on this. Most operators who have implemented this idea said that any extra revenue generated by trucks was far outweighed by messes to clean up (grease etc). 'd stay away from a truck bay and instead make a 'super bay' for cars/light trucks with more psi...

    missed opportunity or money pit???

The wash is basically the same as mine (2+1). I have a similar traffic count, slightly larger population. You need proper floor heat and an automatic that will run consistently and put out a good clean car. IMO a new automatic will eat up your whole budget or close to it. For a business...

Delayed High Pressure from Cat 3535

Maybe you have a blowdown (freeze protect) cycle that is purging lines of water and that is causing the delay.

    Belanger E300 problem

did you test: 1. any relay that corresponds to the communication wires. 2. tug-test the comm wires in input and output cards 3. test continuity in your comm wire you need to test everything you can before you go replacing (expensive especially) parts. good luck!

    Grease Em Up!!

Just a friendly rookie reminder to grease all your bearings good for the cold weather washing season! Just replaced 2 pillow block bearings on my touchfree and re-did a few fittings for existing bearings so they can all get a regular greasing. Who knows; could keep you washing this winter...

Has Joining Your Local Chamber of Commerce Been a Good Investment for Your Business?

Set a sales goal of $1k for my just-completed 'Business After Hours' event, in conjunction w/chamber o commerce. More than doubled sales goal, so a successful event. For me these results (and similar we have had at other chamber events) are proof that membership works for us. But it requires...

    Flex Buffer/more testing

Update: Love the Flex. One complaint; the top handle (near head). When you bear down, the handle snaps forward and pinches your fingers. OUCH!!!! You snap it back into place and continue, but this is a design flaw that needs to be remedied!!! As far as the Rupes; yeah I have heard of it...

Has Joining Your Local Chamber of Commerce Been a Good Investment for Your Business?

My chamber is only $195/year. It doesn't take a whole lot of effort to make that up and then some. 2 pre-paid details sold at my event and that cost is covered plus. And we hold 3 of these 'Chamber After 5' events per year. Yes; there are ways to market for free, but are cw owners doing all...

what's wrong with the car wash industry

I agree with you. Colors and scents are part of many many industries and don't indicate a problem or a gimmick. Scent is very powerful. Bubbles are awesome and copious quantites of thick, lathery, bubble-gum scented foam indicate to the customer that they are getting their money's worth! I'm...

Has Joining Your Local Chamber of Commerce Been a Good Investment for Your Business?

The carwash and detail shop I manage is hosting an 'after 5' networking event in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce. The chamber helps publicize the event and we prep for it. We offer food and entertainment in the detail shop as well as sell pre-paid detailing (gift cards and/or...

    Undercarriage Washer

I doubt they'd use it on paint, but never say never in SS carwashing! As for mud, you're probably right. But from my experience the mudders' trucks are high enough up so the plain ol wand is getting 90% of the mud so another 10% isn't too bad.
