    New CC sales scenario

Expecting the customer to do extra things in order to properly or successfully use your business is a big mistake. I tried that as 'tokens only' for a few years. Man, if I could have that lost quarter revenue it wouldn't be a small number (to me). Sell the customer a great wash that is easy...

    New CC sales scenario

You can't add CC acceptance to my Hamilton Token vendor; I asked at the Kleenrite show and a new one is far more than Crypto Pay for my rinky dink 2 SS bays.

    New CC sales scenario

Maybe so, but if an operator already has wand bays, adding CC acceptance is one more way to wring more $$ out of those bays, right? And although your experience is far greater than mine, my SS bays get alot of action and I enjoy having both IBA and SS (and detail) and wouldn't dream of having...

    New CC sales scenario

So 30% use CC in the SS bays and for those 30%, they spend 20% more than cash. IMO that is only going to increase. I plan to get Cryptopay by month's end. The CC fees are negated by the potential gross revenue increase.

    New CC sales scenario

For the first time, my IBA cc sales are higher than cash sales. Even more reason to buy CC acceptors for SS bays! No more excuses.

    Inverted L turn In

mine (not a pro) has a motor brake that stops the rotation. it needs occasional tightening. sounds like the machine is not seeing the target (for the rotate prox). is there an input card in the electrical panel you can watch while you manually rotate the machine? if so, look for the l.e.d...

    Smart Car---any conveyor troubles?

Assuming the car is fairly centered under the blowers, common sense would dictate that both rocker panels would blow off if it were a direct result of the blowers and/or the car being too wimpy. You're assuming only one side is too wimpy and that doesn't make sense. Gotta be another reason it...

    Glass Polishing Service

What price range should I implement for glass polishing at my detail shop? Assume all windows per vehicle. Ala carte vs pkg price as part of a full detail, for example. Thank you.

    High Employee Turnover

There are many jobs in the US that need to be done; fast food, carwashing, grave digging, septic pumping, janitorial work, etc. If an individual is of the right mindset, there is joy to be found in every job. Car detailing is fun to me because I get immediate positive results from every action...

    High Employee Turnover

Sounds like a good system. I feel that my wages and perks are not too low, however adding a bonus system like the measured one you describe sounds good. The employee I recently let go did value the job and tried to get re-hired. He has left his other jobs under similar circumstances and it was...

    High Employee Turnover

Employees receive one on one, on the job training during the first 30 days and then periodic one on one refresher sessions as needed. There is no employee handbook at this time. There are regular safety meetings and team meetings focusing on quality, specific techniques, new products or tools...

    High Employee Turnover

As a manager, I find mysellf repeatedly explaining to employees that the manager's job is to maintain high standards and that means that their work is subject to manager's approval. The manager is often met with resistance in the form of excuses and poor attitude. Problem is that the company...

    High Employee Turnover

Perhaps I have, in that I failed to go with an instinct I had to not hire an employee I did hire and it ended after 4 months. What standards have worked for you in the past?

    High Employee Turnover

My company is experiencing what I perceive to be a high rate of employee turnover this year. I have let go employees recently for theft and insubordination. Without going into specifics, I am disappointed with the attitude of my 30 year old and under employees. They seem to have a prideful...

    Troubling Trend

A trend is a generalization and those don't always apply to particular businesses in every instance. A prevailing nationwide trend may be felt in CA but less in FLA, for example. We have to address the customers' needs. The need is there. People wash their bodies, clothes and autos. People...

    Troubling Trend

This trend is bunk. I see plenty of trashed new cars and nice, clean 5-10 year old vehicles. Vehicle Age isn't directly related to how clean a person keeps it; it's more about the person. Compare it to homes; do people keep newer homes cleaner? No they don't.

guys: there is far more to detailing than marketing and, specifically, naming things. that is but a small portion of the business and i feel far too much time is spent on this particular concept within this forum.
