    ARO pump creating bubbles

Thanks Fatboy! You may appreciate that I color coded the LP polytubing a few years ago when we replaced the wall manifolds and solenoids. It matches the lettering on the MW tank. Foam Brush = Blue, Presoak = Pink, Tire Cleaner = Yellow. Looks so clean! 🤩

    ARO pump creating bubbles

I appreciate your reply Randy. I like the shelf setup with my ARO Pumps. I would rather replace an ARO every 4-5 years than a Flojet every year.

    ARO pump creating bubbles

I have a 4 year old ARO LP pump pumping bubbles back into the Tire Cleaner fluid tank. The pump gauge shows 80 psi, but only air is coming out in the bays. I suspect the ball check valve has failed. I will replace pump tomorrow as it's not worth my time to rebuild. In my 20 years I've never...

    D/H vacuum door gasket

Check out Kleen-Rite's website at https://www.kleen-ritecorp.com. The sell a lot of different shapes & sizes, and you might be able to find a generic one that might work. Door gasket is important for the suction and your customers will appreciate your replacing it! (y):D

    Redirect guides on Slugbusters

For the past 20 years I have struggled to get quarters and tokens going through the Slugbuster II P-35 coin acceptors, to line up vertically with the 2" pipe that drops down into my coin vault. I can't tell you how many different vacuum hoses and funnels I have tried to make it work...

    Exit plans…?!

This thread is very helpful, and I can see both sides. I'm also 58 years old, and planning to keep my SS car wash for the next 3-5 years. I don't have children to help me run it, or will it to. Right now, it's just me, my twin sister and handy friends. When I bought it with my husband 20...

    AirShamee Boom Mount Location?

We mounted ours on the same side as the Foam Brush, so they both retract against the wall. Mount it high enough so it doesn't hit the HP or FB booms, or wall lights. I'm always shocked to find the dryer hoses tangled up with the HP hose. Mount the motor vertical if you can so the short hose is...

    Discontinued Tokens

What a NIGHTMARE! 😖 My heart goes out to you GoBuckeyes and Dakota Hoskins. I also purchase tokens from VanBrooks. I use the bi-metal high-security tokens (CT-121). Due to quarter theft, we converted to $1 tokens in January 2015, and added a single credit card reader at the Cash Machine...

    Business Model

Axxlrod, I appreciate your input. As stated earlier, the property used to be connected in 1982. There are 3 EE car washes within 2 mile radius, and I don't think the city would approve another. I'm very happy and content, running my simple and successful SS car wash. I'm enjoying my life...

Yes, over the years I have considered buying it, but never had a good reason to. It's been for sale off/on the past 20 years. Originally, it was owned by the Neal family who built the car wash and gas station in 1982. The elevation is about 4' different and the 2nd owners put in a large...

Unfortunately not enough room for more bays. On the East side (Auburn Blvd) we have a vacuum and vending machines. We lost some footage when they widened Auburn Blvd 10 years ago. On busy days I wish I had MORE bays!! We are open 24 hours and see a steady business overnight (Lyft & Uber...

Thank you! We knew the location was unique which is why we paid almost $1M for it in 2003. And I just paid it off last year!! (y) 😀

Yes, strictly 5 SS bays. No room for an IBA. My bays are only 28' deep & I'm located on a very shallow lot. Honestly, I love the simplicity of my SS equipment. There is a SS car wash 1/2 mile up the road, but it's poorly maintained. The Valero and Shell gas stations on the other 2 corners...

Yes, traffic counts done from 2012-2019 were 102,300 CPD (cars per day). I'm located on a prominent corner with 2 driveways. Posted speed is 45. Another variable to consider in this complex EE puzzle.

Sunrise Express car wash is located within 1 mile to the East. Maybe if the EE tunnel wash's monthly memberships were less expensive, washed customers vehicles better, with less damage and accommodated more vehicles, then maybe I'd be singing a different tune. There are many variables and I...

My 5-bay SS is located in Northern California, city population 87k. Within 2 miles, in each direction, I have 3 Express tunnel car washes (Quick Quack, Sunrise Express and Bubba's). They were built and/or remodeled within past 8 years. I've owned my car wash for 20 years now, and remodeled it...

    Vacuum not sucking

Here's an image of the motor screen... You can buy from Kleen-Rite or make your own from thick wire screen. It goes between the motor and vacuum housing, so large debris doesn't get sucked into the motor & damage it. Replace your filters with clean ones and I bet your suction will improve...

    Vacuum not sucking

We had that problem last week. Motors & gaskets were good. Vacuum hose was new. Filters were clean. However there was a weird vibration inside the hose... Used the Diskin In-bay Dryer to blow out pens, a hairnet and several bottle caps! 🤪 FIXED!!

    Air logic or Air shammee

While our boom swings 180 degrees around the cars, the added boom extension & weight, inhibits its ability to naturally retract against the wall now. Customers are learning to pull the hose back and hook behind the yellow hook. I like the motor mounts you made!

RIP MEP001 You will be missed

You're most welcome Terri! I agree that car wash people are a special breed!! The CW Forum has provided me a safe place to complain, vent, ask for help, laugh and celebrate - where many of my family and girlfriends simply would not understand this industry, dealing with the public, and some of...
