    Tire size affecting vehicle speed

All 3 of my cars require the brake to be pressed to shift into any gear, no matter what it is.

    Tire size affecting vehicle speed

True, but that momentary pause after the front roller drops and the vehicle is stationary waiting for the safety roller to contact and push the rear tire will still not allow for a crash. The only way for two vehicles to contact one another on a conveyor is if one driver makes an error...

    Are my memberships profitable

Memberships aren't profitable for smaller/low volume washes as only your best customers will become members and wash very frequently. Those are the customers who would have come anyway and spent more money at your business. IMO, memberships aren't profitable unless you get to about 1000+...

    Tire size affecting vehicle speed

Impossible. It's a physics/science question. The chain moves all the vehicles on the conveyor at exactly the same speed. Different tires sizes does not change anything. The only possible way for one vehicle to contact another inside a conveyorized car wash tunnel is if the car in front...

Environmental Inspection Scam - GRS Group

Outrageous fishing expedition. If the current banker can't read the ph1 report that says no issues found and still wants a ph2, then find a new bank. I've refied my washes several times. The bank always wants a report on what materials you use, and they want a ph1. Never been asked for a ph2.

    Damage Claim

I've had it happen twice. First time insurance company called me and said that one of their insured customers damaged their vehicle while washing it one of our self-serve bays! Ha. The rep on the phone kept demanding my insurance info. Heck no. They threatened to take me to court. See you...

    Long Bay Petit

Not enough vacs can be a serious problem for some washes if the site layout only allows the vacs to be used coming out of the tunnel. In that case, when they are full, people will just sit and wait in the middle of the lane blocking the whole operation. And since they can't come back later...

Inherited CarWash with purchase of a lube shop

Are you sure you a Reverse Osmosis system for the water? Or just a water softener? Central vac is overkill for what you want to do.

Seeking Guidance: How to Start a Company Building Self-Service Car Wash Systems?

Is this for a college project or research paper? Sounds like it.

    New Flex Wash Pad Design

I'm assuming you were inspired by the Valet Auto Wash sites since you're in PA? You might want to check out some of the Rich's Car Wash sites in the south. Several have separate polish tunnels that require the customer cars to circle back around to through the polish tunnel after the wash...

    Negotiating equipment purchases ?

So you're saying the quote for two Petit units each with double pumps totaled $177K? Seems way too low.

Is this Self Serve a Good Buy ?

I mean maybe if you need a write-off and a hobby.

    New Flex Wash Pad Design

Interesting. Going to an expensive build. Are you dead-set on doing the interior service? That's a whole different ballgame than just exterior washing. You will have congestion in the drive aisle between the vacs since there is two-way traffic and it's only 28' wide. There is a wash by me...

Turning full service wash into an express wash

Plan on $1.5M for all new equip installed. You'll most likely need to make some improvements/changes to the property, so figure couple hundred grand more in addition. Not going to be easy to get a bank to loan you $1M+ for a site that has already failed once. Almost impossible to get that...

Turning full service wash into an express wash

I've done this before, and am about to do it again. First off, it has to be a good location. Since it went out of business before, it sounds like it isn't. What is the 5 mile pop and traffic counts? How long is the tunnel?

JE Adams Canister vacs with booms for sale

Selling 4 JE Adams canister vacs with booms. Selling as a package. Do not want to separate. I bought these from a car wash in Chicago two months ago, and had them shipped to San Diego. I no longer need them. The vacs are sitting in a warehouse still in the crate. Price is firm as that is...

    Property and liability insurance

NIL has destroyed college sports. Totally agree. But how is the state of CA responsible for that?

    Property and liability insurance

Just one of many things the state of CA has screwed up for the rest of the country. I pray Gavin Newsome never becomes POTUS.

    New Owner/New Build

$25 ticket is absolutely doable for a full-serve; in fact it might be considered a little low. But you an't really compare different types of washes; apples and bananas. To do 6 IBAs you'd need a direct connection to one of the Great Lakes to feed all of them.

    New Owner/New Build

I have lots of thoughts... Population is good Traffic count is low. Has Sonny's done a site layout for you yet? Or a site analysis? 75' is not a lot to work with. Is this going to be an express model? There is not an express wash in the world that has a $25 ticket average. Use $15 for both...
