Hi David,
ken-pro and phred113 have good suggestions.
Check for leaks, worn check valves, and avoid bottoming out a regulator...especially if the regulator is rated to over 2000 psi.
When replacing nozzles, be sure correct nozzle size (orifice) is used.
Keep in mind; the pump only puts...
BG,
Your seals are most likely questionable at best. Most who have been through this would also recommend not re-using them.
I have helped new and old timers who have returned washed out Cat heads. Most times they are money ahead, rather than adding cost of sleeves, machining, new seal kit &...

MEP,
That sounds good, you should find guard clearance to be OK with changeover to the Arimistu 516.
Changeovers to Arimitsu 516 have been a non-issue using existing guards. I measured the guard used by National Pride to be 8-7/8". D&S, Dilling-Harris, Etowah Valley, A-OK...

Hi MEP,
The 5CP is 4.25" from the base plate to the center of the shaft, compared to 4.5" on the Arimitsu 516.
Operators do their changeovers 1 of 2 ways;
A) 516 pump, 30102 rails, & 22mm bushing - existing pulley is re-used.
or
B) 516 pump shipped mounted on 30102 rails...

Here is a handy formula for folks to determine required horsepower;
Multiply Pump GPM X PSI then divide by 1500
examples;
5(gpm) x 1500(psi) / 1500 = 5 hp
4(gpm) x 1500(psi) / 1500 = 4 hp
4.5(gpm) x 1200(psi) / 1500 = 3.6 hp
4(gpm) x 1200(psi) / 1500 = 3.2 hp
3.5(gpm) x...
Thanks RPH, I watched the video from you post about a week ago and yes, amazing.
I was watching the History Channel last night and they ran a commercial for a program airing Sun.eve, 1/25 @ 8/7central titled "Extreme Marksman". They show a snip which appears to be the same fellow in your...
Hi Jason,
When you say "resealed", did you put new seals in the pump? If not, that would be my next step.

Hi Jason,
What did you find in the 6 pump valves when you removed and cleaned them? (I suspect you meant "valves" and not "plungers" as originally described)
It is possible that after you completed your service, more debris entered the pump and became lodged in the valves while your customer...
I thought this was pretty darn neat....

As long as you have the head apart, I would recommend pulling the 6 valves and inspecting the valve seat orings. Especially the inlet valves-these are the 3 facing out the front of the head. This could account for both the piece of rubber that you found and the intermintent pulsing and noise...
Background checks
I was at a family get together yesterday for a nephews 2yr birthday party and learned about the Facebook website.....which seems to be popular for many.
It was mentioned that a school was informed of evidence, found on Facebook, regarding inappropriate behavior of some...
