I would also like to know how adding an extra presoak pass will get the car cleaner. I have owned touchless automatics for 30 years and have tried more chemical variations then i care to remember. All you will do is drive up your cost and more importantly lower your car counts. The main weakness...
original heads were brass seats, so putting stainless inserts in would be "better than original". I did buy one of the 310S. When one of the inserts fell out I took it to IDS. That was early on when the 310S first came out, maybe they have improved their process.
i use IDS. If you are getting them done at kleen rite, IDS is doing them. They press fit the stainless sleeves. Well worth getting them done, head will last forever. Better than original. I also get brush heads from him and small parts. I have had 310 , 5cp and 3535 cat pumps done. I used to...
Had this setup on a laser 4000. Just use the 45 street elbows. I had maybe one get broken in 5 years. This also allows you to focus the spray on the rocker panels of the car. If your autocashier is aligned properly with your entrance the customer rarely has an issue pulling in. Removing the side...
i have had great luck with IDS pump repair. They also do my stainless resleeving in my pumps, especially larger pumps like 3535. Why would you throw away a 310 with water in the oil. Simple and cheap fix. I could see not fixing pumps with rear end issues.

In 35 years of carwashing I have used every chemical out there. Nu-wall and Klean-wall both do a good job. What I do now is hire a local pressure washing company to do my bays once a year. Extrutech wall panels. They do walls , floors and ceilings. Price is reasonable and they do a much better...
If you have not done so it is time to put in credit cards and bill acceptors. Quarters have always been a pain to deal with and now with the "new normal" they are a colossal waste of time. I take credit cards, tokens, bills and quarters at my wash. Sundays are always a good day because the local...
Kleen rite is still resleeving heads. Price is 185.99 for all ports on a 310 or 5cp. They also sleeve 3535 but not sure of current price. They use a company called IDS and have been for over 10 years.

this the swivel you want for the laser 4000. The other one is too short

Kleen rite still does sleeving. They press fit the sleeves in the head, way more durable than most of the other options out there. They use this company.

I have had very good luck with these swivels. I have been using them for a few years. Part number SWV500

I have had good luck with a company called IDS. They have done several 3535 heads for me. They machine out the heads and press fit stainless steel inserts.

If your piston guide is scored you will have a corresponding score in the bushing in the crankcase. Replacing the piston guide will not fix the problem. These pumps are known for bearings going bad and causing scoring on the piston guide, crankcase bushings, and connecting rods. If I were you i...
send them to kleen rite , they actually press fit the sleeves into the head, permanent fix. I have done 3535, 310 and 5cp with them. Not sure how vilco does it but i thought putting the seals back in had to be done a certain way with vilco
I have been a kleen rite customer for 30 years. Problems have occured over that time but they always take care of it in the end. I dont think you can compare kr to big box stores like lowes or home depot, those companies cover many different markets and have huge influence on what is sold. I am...
doors are a must have. The reason most people have problems with doors in self serve is they let the public work them. When my doors are down they are locked down. Customers back out. I am located in pa and could never justify the expense of having a plow truck to do my washes, I tried it for a...
garbage is unfortunately part of this business. I have teepee style vac islands. What I did was to weld a cross over the hole to make putting large items in the can harder. I also have signs stating "vacs are for paying customers, all others will be prosecuted." I charge 1.75 for 3 minutes...
A sleeved head should last forever. If you have a 5cp2120w and it is pulsating it is almost a lock that it is washed out in the valve ports. Check the black oring at the bottom of the valve, if it is chewed up or missing the head is washed out. Cat pumps 310 and 5cp are known for this. I send...
