I hit the number because I installed a new WashWorld razor in place of my original superior side track. The razor is much faster and loads the car while the car in the bay is pulling out underneath my blowers which are outside. I haven't remeasured the traffic count or looked into it recently...
When I built my wash I used 3/10 of a percent daily traffic flow as my goal. So you take the daily traffic count and multiply it times .003. 20 years later I finally reached my number!
Bouquet is my least favorite little tree scent of all time. It dates back to my college days when we used to go cruisin in my old Chevy station wagon. We would always stop at a hotdog place in Rhode Island called New York system. At one point one of those hotdogs must've got lost down inside my...
I wouldn't remove blowers from the bottom package I'd keep them on every wash. I used to have a bottom package with no blowers and people complained that the blowers didn't come on. I think you have to look at the price of things in other areas. What does a Starbucks cup of coffee cost? What is...
I definitely think with a brand new car wash you should consider a more dramatic pricing increase. That's what I did and I've been very happy.
there is no way I would invest a quarter million dollars and keep my pricing the same but just add an extra top package. All the prices need to go up.
if it were me I would keep it simple. At least at first. You could always add it later if you think you need it. I don't even have power towers I just have a regular underbody pipe that sprays underneath the car and then off at the sides via the ends of the pipe which have a separate pipe that...
just be sure all power to bay and equipment is off. i removed my old sidetrac myself. i found power still on to places i swore i turned off. don't just go by the breakers that correspond to the area you are working on; test with a multimeter to be certain power is indeed off.
my partner in my used car business likens the iPhone to a crack pipe.
I love the police body cam videos where the police are questioning someone about drunk driving and they're texting on their cell phone the whole time and not even looking at the police officer. It's an addiction to the cell...
On my razor I use one of the LP injectors for salt neutralizer in the winter and bug remover in the summer. Applying two high pH presoak passes as well as a bug/salt pass really gets the cars nice and clean.
I can't remember the last time I got a complaint about "not clean enough".
i'm...
The razor has a speaker that directs the customer what to do entering the bay and announces what chemical is being applied etc. That is very helpful and increases throughput quite a bit. The light show is nice on the razor and it's attractive to the customer. The production arch aids in speeding...
I found a few partially plugged nozzles. Cleared them/ tested. Still bogging. I tightened drive belt. I had loosened it awhile back when I had an issue with the hp pump breaker tripping ( wound up being a bad 20 y.o. breaker).
With the nozzles cleared and belt tighter it seems normal again...
I didn't get it figured out yet. I'm going back to try to do some more testing today. I also ordered a new pressure gauge. I had the original go bad and then two subsequent replacements go bad as well so I bought a winter brand high pressure gauge and we'll see if that holds up.
Yes I agree; I was imagining the wire braid breaking apart and causing an issue. Maybe that's unlikely. I was on site but it was intermittent and the wash was busy so I let it ride. I plan to do what Eric said and run hp while moving the wash around the bay with the remote.
So are you going to raise your start price as well? Or just keep it three dollars to start and give three minutes time? I'm for five dollars to start for five minutes. I get some complaints about price now and then but not too many. In my area that price is becoming the norm.
We're in business...
The high-pressure pump and motor sound like they're bogging down at certain points along the car wash travel as it washes the car. I can't really tell from my cameras what position the wash is at when you can audibly notice a slowing of the motor and pump as the high-pressure function is on. It...
i don't use presoak unless you count desalt or bug off; no idea the ph of either. i use simoniz correct and simoniz foam additive as my hi pressure soap and foam brush. It is a hi ph product.

I tried the whole notch or hole in the claw thing and all It did was make the most annoying whistling sound you've ever heard. Nobody ever complains about the claw getting stuck to the upholstery and I don't seem to wear out motors any faster than normal.
I think if you could make a vacuum...
