Seeking Guidance: How to Start a Company Building Self-Service Car Wash Systems?

I just got the newest issue of the Kleen scene magazine where Kleen Rite talks about some of the pump stands that they have available for self-serve car wash. They look pretty nice. Why not start there? You don't need to reinvent the wheel. It's already been invented…

Just show up once a week and pick up the quarters

well, my height restriction for my automatic wash didn't exactly work last night when a customer with a big huge rack on his Silverado smashed through it. He pretty much demolished the height restriction which will have to be totally rebuilt, including angle iron, bracing, pressure treated...

    Long Bay Petit

i see an issue with cars being trapped in line with no way out except thru the wash. i realize other car washes are set up this way, but it could get dangerous if something goes wrong and cars have to back out into the street.

    Floor Heat Help

I have 3 bays. I put my thermostat in the slab of my middle bay ( self-serve ). I drilled a small hole in the corner and dropped the t stat in and siliconed over top of it. Works well for me. My IBA has doors. I do not try to keep the IBA at 40 degrees; just over freezing is fine with me...

Is this Self Serve a Good Buy ?

what kind of equipment is the touch free? Why is it broken down? How long has it been broken down and out of service? What about the vacuums? There's really no reason for vacuums to be broken down. They're so simple and require so few parts to operate that having them broken down seems like a...

    Negotiating equipment purchases ?

maybe there are options you can remove? you're only $17k over, doesn't seem that bad to me. I really don't think you can compare a quote from four years ago to yours and expect it to be exact. A lot of things aren't the same price as they were four years ago.

Who builds SS + IBA car washes?

I think many commercial building contractors can handle a car wash. It's not really complicated. It's a big rectangular garage with a room in the middle for mechanicals. The site work and drainage for bays is specific to a car wash. I think the electrical is the hardest part. Just my opinion...

Who builds SS + IBA car washes?

You might have better luck starting with an equipment distributor in your area. Find out who the major manufacturers distributors are and meet with them. They will likely have connections with builders.

    Petit or Oasis distributor

sounds abnormally problematic to me. the razor i bought has about 30,000 washes on it and i have replaced a set of photo eyes and one hi pressure hose. may not have even needed the photo eyes; i never was quite sure that they were bad.

Changing Coleman Hanna Water Wizard 2.0 to Wand Wash

it also depends on your own personal goals and how long you plan on keeping this business. I spent about a quarter million dollars remodeling my automatic bay. to me it was well worth it. my customers used to use the old carwash quite a bit but it was a challenge because I bought some very...

    Best Dryer Configuration

i run 3 19 year old superior dryers on my Razor. side blowers are 10hp, top is 15 hp and oscillates. They work great imo. very few complaints, but you'll always get drips from roof racks and mirrors. i have a timer that counts down from 60 seconds and alot of people leave with 20-30 seconds...

    Quicksilver DSNet

I replaced an old superior sidetrac touch free machine with a new WashWorld razor a few years ago. I find the razor to be an excellent and dependable machine. It doesn't require much more than routine maintenance and the occasional small repair like to a high pressure hose that fails etc. The...
