Hi everyone!
I have a question regarding when to use my drying agent, and sealer wax / protectant. Is it best to wax before drying agent, or after? I currently use a rain rinse for the drying agent, but I'm going to add some side rain manifolds to get better coverage. I was going to do shower...
I start out with a $5.00 basic wash. I will do my best to clean the car of all mud/bugs/snow/ice. I see the higher end washes as more of a specialty. For $7.00 you get under carriage rinse and sealer wax. For $9.00 you add wheel cleaner and foam polish wax. I based it off the model of the...
My bosses place isn't far from the Chrysler Tech Center, and we end up washing a lot of their employee's cars. We wash many avengers daily, and haven't had any issues with them so far.
I've been using Stone Soap in the past three months I've had my own wash. I've always liked their products. They seemed to be pretty popular here in the Metro Detroit area. I live about fifteen minutes away, which makes it very easy to obtain product. I'd love to give Turtle Wax a try though...
Hi guys! Sorry for the long response time. Many, many thanks for all your input, and assistance. After removing a bent section of chain, and replacing my air line that makes the fork go back down, I've yet to have any more sideways rollers! Next on the list is replacement of the bearings on the...
Guys, I'm having a bear of a time with my rollers coming up side ways. I've been in this industry as an attendant and an assistant manager at two different locations, for different operators since 1996 and I've never seen or heard of anything like this happening. I had to send of a line of cars...
The longest stretch was about four days. I have 15 feet of conveyor outside. I took over the shop on Dec 18, and the pit had a foot of mud in the prep area that had already froze up. This proved problematic in regards to chain/rollers being frozen to the conveyor. Even with salt, it took some...
Yeah, sorry about all the old posts. I neglected to to check the dates as I mosey ed through the posts.
Was the bristle replaced? I'd love to see your washes one day!
My employer offered to set me up with Armor All, but my place came with Stone Soap. Stone is 15 minutes from where I live, which makes it very convenient if I need something in a pinch.
If I want to try a name brand, I'd like to give Turtle Wax a go.
I have all cloth at my wash - because that's what it came with. I'm considering bristle on my rotating pieces and Lammscloth/Microclean on my mitters.
I have a short tunnel with relatively few pieces of equipment. One set of rockers, and one set of wraps. I'm in also in a very muddy area...
The first car wash I ever worked at used Turtle Wax, foam wax, Crystal Polymer Conditioner, and Crystal Polymer Glaze, and good Lord did they smell great! My boss uses Zep/Armor All. I'm using Stone Soap and I really like it! That being said, I will be giving Turtle Wax a go. I'm particularly...
If a finish is properly perpared, it is polished using abrasives. These chemicals can finish to a "swirl free", mirror finish. After which wax (natural) or sealant (synthetic) is applied. Sometimes, to save on labor, a glaze is used. A glaze fills in imperfections, and covers them like make up...
Back in 1996 I was allowed to go into a few metro Detroit tunnels to look around and take pics. I was 19. I guess they got a kick out of a kid having an interest in car washes.
If someone wanted to take a picture of my wash, I insist they ask first before entering the facility. Other than that...
Sam Brown in Southfield. They are on 8 mile. They have everything. I even get some chemical from them, although I've since migrated to Stone Soap. But I still would consider air fresheners and wipes from Sam Brown.
