1/4" Pipe Tap

For a 1/4" pipe tap, is the tap size 1/4-18? I muffed up some threads and need to retap one of my booms where the HP hose attaches...Help! :confused:
 
A 1/4" pipe tap is different from a bolt tap. If you're ordering something, make sure it says 1/4-18 NPT.
