did a major upgrade of car wash bay meters 2 years ago, specified mei bill acceptors also got recieved several coin co vantage bill acceptors due to a push by a vender to the equipment supplier. Out of 25 meters we had 9 coin co vantage units and 14 mei units, after two years the results are in. one failure for mei due to water damage and thirity failures for coin co vantage units. these units are in the bay and mounted just out side the on their own pads. have been told that problems were due to a defective roller problem. its a lot more than just a roller wheel.
Now that the warrenty peroid is over, coin co vantage units are now more expensive to repair and repairs are running 60 plus days to get repaired by factory west coast service. Mei are a little bit more expensive to purchase but they last longer,cheaper to repair, and get fixed faster. vantage unit experience has left a sour taste and all vantage units will be replace as they go bad, even when repaired most unit last 4 months before they no longer useable. the plus for vantage units is that there are directy replace by mei units.
