I think my new mantra for 2008 is 'place the customer first and watch everything else fall into place'; This will be the 'year of the customer'. Sure, I know every year should be for the customer. But it seems that it's a great opportunity right now to sharpen service points, go above and beyond expectations and really dazzle some customers this year. I'm ready.
I look forward to learning some key elements towards achieving this goal at the ICA show. I've already begun this mindset and have been implementing a more customer-oriented approach this year as I further develop my business.
It all started with a phone conversation with a veteran car wash owner/operator. She said for her, small business is not about dozens of related factors (car washing, employee issues, money management); it's about PEOPLE. I got alot from our conversation and it sparked something inside me. Something that wants to make me better and my business better. All of a sudden I feel refreshed, like when I first opened my detail shop in 1996. Feels good.
