AC-8001 American Changer Printer

Did you take it out of the cabinet ? This happened to mine about 2 months ago. I took it apart, blew the dust off, looked at it with one of those sideways glances, then...put it back together and put it back in the machine. It's working better now then it did before. It used to print everything real big with a lot of spaces every once in a while. Had to shut the machine off and turn it back on again, then it would be normal. It don't even do that anymore. Works perfectly. It doesn't make too much sense because I didn't replace anything, or fix anything. However I'm not complaining. My Paystation has the Seiko printer.

I have power cycled it several times in the past and got it going again, but this time it just seems dead. I took it out of the cabinet and messed with it, but it looks like it got a few drops of water on the circuit board and created some white chalky looking stuff on it. I tried to clean it up, but perhaps the board is fried. I just hate to drop that kind of money on a new one. Seems a little steep to me.

Thanks,
Lighthouse.

Mine is in a AC2007 credit card to token changer. I purchased it new in 2006. I can't find any make/model on the printer. I do know that it is the one that American Changer no longer uses. They say I must "upgrade" to the new printer...$700...ouch. I have been running it without the printer for some time now. I get very few complaints. But I would like to get it going again...just not for $700. Any ideas?
