The problem is I do not know what is wrong with it. It gives a message "Printer Failed".

I have cleaned it up and reattached, same message. I am hoping it isn't a complete replacement, so has anyone had a similar problem?

Yes. I like their machines, as I have 8 of them. But they can not seem to make a printer that works properly all the time.

Take an air duster and blow it out good, put the paper in and lock it, then turn the machine off for 5 seconds, then back on. If you still get printer failed, it is the printer OR the harness. I have had a harness go bad with no visible signs of damage, so I keep one in stock now.

If you have another machine, switch harness or the printer to isolate. If it is the printer, I think they rebuild it with a new head for about $250. A new harness is around $20.

Good luck with it.
