I am thinking about buying a used ACW 4 but before I do I wanted to find out if you guys make a credit card upgrade kit for the ACW 4 and how much it would cost.

Also, will any XE validator accept tokennotes? Would I program the controller to determine what the tokenote will pay out? (Free wash, two dollars off, or even spit out tokens from a change machine?)

Yes there is a Retro-fir Credit card kit available for the ACW-4. Its part #49-0563A list price is $2470.00. Which isn?t a bad deal considering that you get a new controller, CRC computer, power supply, card swipe and necessary wring harness. How much do they want for the ACW-4?

All XE or STA validators are capable of accepting Token notes. You train the validator to accept the Token note and set the value in the ACW controller. The changer you train the validator to dispense X number of tokens per token note.

I have an 18 yr old acw 4 and would like to go cc's also but am wondering if the dial-up system will be gone soon and be on high speed internet. Also would the e-port system be adaptable with its high speed cell phone data network as its 9.95 a month is alot lower cost than telephone, and the cost of an e-port is like $795. The rumor is the cc processors are going away from dial-up

The rumor is unfounded.

WashGear has an add-on for Hamilton ACW's for credit card acceptance that is less than the Hamilton retrofit. I don't know if it works on an ACW 4 or if they have a model that does, but it runs on broadband if you're really concerned with future-proofing your business based on rumors.
