Thought it would be easy to add the double side card reader to an older Wash Select 2. I guess it is easy, just pricy. May be looking at around 1,800 to do this. Anyone know of other ways to do this?

Wow, I didn't know they were that much. I've got one I took out when I added a new card reader system. It may be worth selling. You probably have to upgrade software etc. is why the price is so high.

Most of the cost is dur to getting the main board up to the current version, about 1,200. This makes it a tough call for customer convenience.

That is for buying a new board correct? If you have access to another board, ( a backup would always be a good idea in my book), you can send the lower revision board in to Unitec to update the board to a current revision that allows the double card reader.

How much would an upgraded board and reader cost? My units still have the old style data modems...would they have to be upgraded if we go to a new board?

I do not know the cost, but Mac said it was about 1800. I would assume that the upgrade kit includes a new upgraded board, and a double sided reader. I believe that Unitec gets about 1200 for a rebuilt board. Your current dial up modems will work with the upgraded board.

What I would suggest doing, is one of two things.
1: send your board in to be upgraded, if can can handle the down time
2: If you cannot handle the down time, then buy the kit, and send your current board in after the kit is installed to be upgraded. this way, you have a back up board for you to use, or I guess you could try to sell it.
