Gonna sell some used equipment, & need some ideas on pricing. ALL equipment was working at time of uninstall.

1. American CHanger AC8001 (includes extra rebuilt validator & new keypad) good condition
2. PDQ LaserDry blowers. all 3 blowers work, middle doesn't oscilate. 13 yrs old, avg used condition
3. IVS vac rebuilt (new decals, hose, LED claw, cleanout basket)
4. Husky 26 gallon air compressor (black color $450 @ H.D.) great condition
5. Doyle Fresh Impressions combo vac Fragrance/Shampoo/Spot Remover/Vac ($7500 new) good used condition
6. JE Adams dual vac, 6 yrs old, good condition
7. American Changer double rear loader says "tokens" instead of bills ($3000 new) 2005 model
8. Hamilton ACW-5 paystation. 2001 model, w/ CC/bills/qrtrs

thanks

Ouch. You may be correct on some of it. However, you couldn't find a nice Husky Air compressor for $45 @ a garage sale. lol
so....
1 Ameri Changer $850
2. PDQ LaserDry $1000
3. IVS Vac $150 ( new hoses, claw, decals, cleanout canister is about $150 itself), parts are worth $150 & SS is worth about $25
5. Doyle Vac : $800
6. JE Dual Vac: $250
7. American Changer $300 ( I NEVER have seen a used dual changer for $300)
8. ACW-4/5 $1000

so ask about $5000 & accept about $4500? Sounds a little low, but you may know more about used equipment than I do. Prices on carwashconsignment are WAY HIGHER than those prices.

Good luck with that. Check ebay and you will feel depressed, as there is a lot of good used stuff out there. By the time , if, you find a buyer and pay to have it shipped, it ain't worth much more than scrap.

There is nothing as worthless as used self-service carwash equipment.

Ten years ago, 10 percent net (after removal) of the replacement cost new was typical liquidation rate.

Today, demand for parts is probably 1/2 as much.

For example, 15-year old Hamilton ACW-5 pay station, you want $1,000, lists for $3,000 on e-bay or consignment.

Does it work? Has controller been updated? Have DAN? Freight cost?

Out of approximately 12,500 self-service carwash owners, how many are looking to buy a 15-year old Hamilton pay station when HTK kiosk is available?

If you can get 10 cents on the dollar, take it.

I have sold a couple self serve car washes full of stuff.

I have sold quite a few ACWs also.

The ACW is worth all of $1000.... it is worth close to $3000. I would argue if you are in a bind $5000.... because simple is better. I believe every car wash owners without a Hamilton or Unitec entry unit is in the market for a 15 year old ACW or should be.

Plus a 30k+ HTK is poor advice at best for a basic auto. Used entry units I believe are worth a premium because no vendor sells a cheap unit. I believe there is a market. Everything is geared towards expresses. Even your comments.

i bought 2 used IVS dual motor vacs, $500 for the both and i met the seller 30 min from my wash.

bought a used air machine for $45.

once i worked on enough equipment, buying used seemed feasible and the mark up of new is steep. Every component on the vac can be changed and it's not too hard, so why not save a buck and get used equipment?

You may know this, but the prices people are quoting are individual items. If you make a package deal to someone expect to get less.

if the IVS vacs are really in good shape, you might get $250

Yes, I understand the package deal thing. I think all of these prices are very good prices. Some of it I may just keep, cause it is good stuff & I can't find it for the same prices again.
