air dryer hoses leaving marks on cars

the boom is on one wall so kind of impossible to do the whole car without the hose rubbing on the car.
has anyone figured out a solution to this problem?

I try to keep mine clean by rinsing it every day and when I hang it up in the bay I wrap it around the holder so it doesn't lay on the floor. When I'm drying my own cars I just hold the hose away from the roof of the car with one hand while I dry with the other.
