The ADA regulations that cover vending machines have been changed, so all manufacturers of vending machines have had to redesign their doors to comply with the new regulations. What has changed is the height above the floor of the coin slot, the keypad, and the bill validator slot has been lowered so the geometry of the control panel has changed. That means we have to change the geometry of our mask and the geometry of the cut-out in our security structure (cage).

All new vendors that we purchase from now on will have this new geometry on the door which we will accomodate. The height, width, and depth of the individual vendor models will remain the same. This will give the front of the vendor a new look which AMS has named the "Epoch" series. Included in this new look vendor is a lighted keypad which will be easier to read. The electronics will still use the S-3 technology which we use now. Operation of the vendor will be the same as it is now.

When ever these changes are made, there is some progress made. The one inevitable reaction by the manufacturers to these regulations is to raise the prices of the vendors. We have been informed by AMS that prices will be increased by 3-5% beginning with orders after January 1, 2013. If you are getting near a decision about purchasing a new vendor, save your self some money by ordering before New Year's. Merry Christmas!!!
