Anti Freeze for air lines

Years ago we T'd the air line at the compressors with 2 valves.

Compressors feed Tunnel wash and 4 Bay Mechanic Shop.

To prevent or solve air line freezing we would add gas line AF at the T.

Later I switched to regular auto anti freeze thinking the regular AF would be less harmful to air cylinders and Flo Jets.

Most but not all gets trapped by filters.

Any thoughts on what's better or worse for stuff like cylinders and flo jets. (Had to use some Sat. temp got up to about 4 degrees. )

Gas line antifreeze (Dry Gas) is alcohol, the one I use in the yellow bottle is methanol. So if you're using methanol mixed in with your soaps its the same thing. If that's harming our flojets I'd like to hear more about it.

I know you know this, but just a reminder that methanol is flammable. I've been using it in hobo stoves (technically a beer can stove) for decades to heat up soup & coffee while hunting. Can light it with a spark, I tried it once with my flintlock just to see if I could. So yeah it makes me nervous that I have methanol in my FB soap in the equip room, even though it is diluted. OK, I havent tried to light the winter FB with methanol in it... now that I think about it I'm going to try it. (Safely, dont worry.) But if anybody is keeping straight methanol for mixing their own, holy crap it lights easily.
