Sorry guys! False alarm. It turns out my city had me listed under the SIC code of a car wash equipment manufacturer, which requires a storm water permit, but a car wash itself does not. I tried to delete the post, but didn't see a way to do it.
Hello fellow California operators,
I was just going to renew my business license when I noticed a letter enclosed with the renewal stating I had to get a Storm water discharge permit to demonstrate enrollment in the national pollutant discharge elimination system. Before I start researching, I wanted to see if any of you have gone through the process to get the required permit. I'm curious if they actually send someone out to review your site etc.., and if it can be a big hassle. I always cringe when dealing with these agencies, as I feel like if you answer one question wrong on the application you can get in the doghouse easily... Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, John
