Are hamilton HHC12 controller worth fixing?

vinh

I have two HHC12v5.3 controller that come from my changer. They have started to give wrong change. One dollar will change out 6 quarters. Hamilton does not even repair them anymore. Etowah will fix them for $75 and up. Are these obsolete controller worth fixing? I have two c2000 controllers that I have for spare. One day I will use c2000 to dispense dollar coins that HHC12v5.3 controller can't do.

thanks ahead.

The problem I've had with Etowah Valley is that they won't give you a repair estimate, they just fix it and charge you. IMO, once the cost of repair for such an old unit passes half the cost of a new one, it's not worth it. You're gambling on whether it's going to be a cheap fix or not.

It normally costs around $100 -$125 to fix the HHC12 v5.3 controllers. The cost of a new C-2000 list is $524.91, a recon C-2000 controller is about $300- $325 so it would be worth repairing the HHC12 controller. Some of the electronic parts are obsolete so it can be a challenge to repair the older controllers, primarily the red circuit breaker on the back of the controller. In some cases an HHCv5.3 controller can be set up to dispense 1 coin for $1 etc.
