Bought a new Jeep the other day. OK, it's actually one year old, but only 3400 miles. Going through the owners manual was a section on washing it. It said to wash it in the shade. Absolutely no mention of any commercial professional car wash.

I'm not sure what the OEMs say but we get a fair amount of people that tell us the dealer told them to never get the wash that has any wax in it. Something about conflicting with the dealer applied paint protectant.

Not sure if this is still the case, but decades ago, Hanna used to advertise that their systems were washing several brands of new cars at the factories before they were shipped to the dealers. I know that around me -lots of larger dealers have automatic washes as well to take care of their service customers. Seems like they all need to get on the same page and not speak without having knowledge of the subject.

The ones at most auto dealers are about the worst ones anywhere. Most are Broadway things with stupid mitters. Ans every single one has people basically washing the car before it goes in as the machines simply are a piece of horse excrement. Would love to have someone argue this with me.
