automatic garage doors

In the winter months the garage doors are always down until a customer purchased their wash, should the entrance door close down after the customer pulls in or should the exit door stay open during the wash or should the entrance door and exit door stay open during the wash, or is it alright to have the customer in the automatic with both doors down. Just wondering what the best setup is. Thank you.

In the winter our entrance doors close after a car pulls in. Exit doors stay open only if temp is above 30 degrees and close under 30 degrees.

If you're going to have both doors down during the wash, make sure you have some mechanism in place for the customer to let themselves out should something go wrongs. I've seen emergency buttons on the wall and such.

Customer pays for wash, entry door opens. Customer stops on treadle switch, entry door closes. Wash finishes, exit door opens, customer pulls out, exit door closes. all functions set by thermostat to operate at a predetermined temperature.

If we are running both doors...Entrance is down, and then goes back down when the first cycle starts. We however raise the exit during the wash, then it returns down after the wash is complete, and the customer has cleared the bay.

If the wash is busy we will only run the entrance door if needed.

With doors, keeping them well maintained is always the key. We inspect, and watch them run up and down throughout the day.
