Hello all , My boiler to heat the floors of the bays shuts down. Even with the power off to this boiler the pilot will sometimes shut off. Sometimes with the power on and the main burners on it will also shut off , including the pilot. It has a new baso safety and iv tried two new thermocouples. The safety gets it own little gas supply line from the main at the main valve so I'm thinking the new safety must be bad or the wrong one. On ebay this Baso safety says it will take the place of my old Honeywell safety from the part numbers on old safety. Am I right that with the power off to the boiler there is no way the safety can detect any other problems with the valve and shut off ? there is two wires going to it. My pilot flame is good and the th. couple is right and secure in place. I'm close to going to a heating supply and looking like a dummy. I had a so called boiler person last year put a new thermocouple on with a silly zip tie so this year I took out the main burner to get at it and do it right but this is still the story. He told me I can buy a single unit with the regulator , valve , and burner control together but I cant find that so I need help , I'm real stubborn on paying more people , I like to know whats going on . Thx Dave

Does the pilot flame look like it's making good contact with the thermocouple?

Hi , yes I took the whole burner assy out to get at the bracket assy and the new thermocouple had the little piece that threaded into the bracket to hold it perfect. I was happy with that.. I light the pilot and hold the red arm on the new baso safety and in no time it stays lit and I can fire the boiler but it will shut off sooner or later , even with power off to the boiler I can light the pilot and it will go off , I came back the next day with boiler off and the pilot goes off on its own , 2 times , 2 days in a row. I got a Baso pilot switch L62GB-3 , this is the new one I got last year , and it did this going off stuff over night , so my whole place iced up. I'm in Michigan,,,. Warren .
