Came across a full page ad in the recent Popular Science for this site. www.picctv.com/ps If you read it, it claims to dramatically boost gas mileage. Not just a little, a whole lot. Not sure if this page is the place to post this, but figured it would get the maximum exposure. Anyone heard of this, or actually bought one? I know, if it sounds too good to be true, it most likely ain't. But this is from Popular Science, not the National Enquirer.

If it was an article in Popular Science I might be inclined to believe it, but a full-page ad could just mean they're willing to throw money at a gimmick that works as well as most other infomercial-type products.

Can a single car battery provide enough current to generate hyrdogen so that the amount produced is enough to double fuel economy?

Of course, once you solved that riddle, you will have to solve the next one.

Can a single car battery provide enough current so that the plasma generator can simulaneously "crack" the molecular structure of the engine's exhaust stream and produce enough hydrogen to double fuel economy?

How about the benefit/cost. Pretend the device increases fuel economy from 20 mpg to 100 mpg and gas costs $3.00 a gallon. If the vehicle has an expected life of 8 years and is driven 12,000 miles per year, the savings would be $11,120. Do you believe that you can buy and operate these devices for not more than $11,120? Recall that the second device is not even perfected yet.

Good luck.

I'm with Robert. This is a load of BS. The ad reads like a classic infomercial (note the anonymous testimonials). I'd hate to burst anyone's bubble, but I wouldn't get too excited about this. I would be curious to see the price quote. From reading the ad, I'm betting they ll insist you purchase "Step 1" before they quote you on "Step 2".

Consider this: If you had created a product such as this, understanding the magnitude of its impact globally, would you introduce it to the world through an obscure magazine ad?

Well now that I've had the cold water of reality splashed in my face, you're probably right. If it really did work, they could simply license the technology to the automakers who would use them by the millions. Sure would be fun though to doublr the mileage. It would in effect be th same thing as reducing the cost of gas to about 1.50 per gallon.

I heard something today on the radio that there is technology to improve gas mileage signigicantly but it would only make economic sense if the cost of gas rose above the $4.50 level which the way things are going should be next month.

Reminds me of an old Superman episode where Professor Periwinkle found a way to manufacture gold. Unfortunately the cost of manufacturing was more than the gold was worth. Right now that sounds similar to inventions to stretch mileage.

I remember that one - crooks tried to steal it but were mad when they found out the ingredients were so costly. Then Superman stood still while bullets bounced off his chest, then dodged the empty gun thrown at him.

Still curious to see the price quote. My CR-V already gets 28mpg. Not too bad.

LOL From the preliminary response, I wonder just how much they think this is worth!?!

We are also working on a very unique financing program for the PICC upgrade. Having a PICC is expected to greatly increase the value of your car. So much so, that the car itself could be the collateral for a loan to buy the PICC. All you may need is the title and no matter what your credit is like, you will be accepted for that loan. If your car is still being financed, this funder would just refinance it with the PICC on it. The payments should be less than half the amount of the monthly savings.

Good thing I sit down when at the PC!

Two warning signs to look for:

They don't take credit cards (chargebacks)
They don't correspond via US mail (because of potential mail fraud & postal inspectors)

if either of these occur, that signals trouble

I've got my quote.... For the low low price of only $1065 I can have a kit that is guaranteed to increase my mileage by at least 50%. I had better order now before they get too busy from their upcoming million dollar ad campaign and won't be able to fill my order quickly. The good news is that stage 2 (that hasn't been manufactured yet) could get my mileage to increase by up to 100% or more for an estimated $2000 to $4000! I can install it myself in as quickly as 4 hours or have a factory trained tech do it at a location close by. I live in Florida and I think I read that tech is located on Colorado. How Convenient!

At least your gas mileage on the drive back home will be 50% better, or your money back.

http://bwt.jeffotto.com/pre-ignition-catalytic-converter.htm

When will the Pre Ignition Catalytic Converter be available:

The official public debut of our current fuel technologies will be at a major worldwide Renewable Energy conference in DC. Visit www.ACORE.org and read, "The U.S. Department of State will host the Washington International Renewable Energy Conference (www.WIREC2008.gov) at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC on March 4-6, 2008, assisted by the American Council On Renewable Energy".

See also: www.americanrenewables.org "Anticipated To Be The Largest Business Conference and Exposition ever held on renewable energy in the U.S." The company has reserved a booth (between BP [British Petroleum] & Exxon) to display both our current fuel economy technologies installed on two vehicles.

Vehicle #1 with the HAFC technology (available now):

Will be a 2007 Mazda that is modified to get over 100 mpg. The company is now in the process of obtaining CARB Certification (California Air Resources Board) to confirm that the Hydro Assist Fuel Cell technology produces exceptionally low emissions and is certified as an approved after-market product.

Vehicle #2 with the PICC technology (view the video here):

Will be a large SUV that has been modified to get about 100 mpg, which translates to an amazing mileage increase of about four fold. The Pre Ignition Catalytic Converter technology will be first introduced at the WIREC conference.

The PICC is scheduled for market release sometime around April of 2008. That will depend on how long it takes to obtain EPA approval as an authorized catalytic converter replacement. Your Pre Ignition Catalytic Converter quote will include the projected fuel economy for the complete system, to include the Hydro Assist Fuel Cell technology.

“The Utah…News reports that Lee was indicted for fraud in New Jersey in 1975, charged with fraud in the state of Washington in 1985, and pled guilty to two felony counts of consumer fraud in California in 1990 in connection with the sale of his energy-saving heat pump kit. Well, what the hell... they say Jim Bakker is planning a comeback, too.”

During 1991 and 1992, Dennis tried reviving his venture after getting out of jail the first time. He became involved with the Patriot Movement, which is located in the northwestern United States and has more than a tinge of white supremacy associated with it, along with many self-serving “leaders” who seem more interested in selling videos than turning America around. Dennis became high profile in the movement, to the point where other “Patriot” leaders felt they had to discredit him. The Mormon Church was so alarmed that they allegedly threatened ex-communication to any member who became involved with Dennis. “Coincidentally,” a Utah newspaper published some libelous articles about Dennis. Of all the massive documentation surrounding Dennis’ cases, much of it official and published by Dennis himself, Mr. Skeptic quoted a Utah newspaper regarding the government's cases against Dennis.

The official record is clear. The 1975 indictment had to do with unintentionally bouncing some checks as his company was going out of business, when a customer put a stop payment on a big check to his company. After getting poor (and probably intentionally poor) legal advice, Dennis na?vely pled guilty to fraud for bouncing some checks, a decision that still haunts him. Dennis was not charged with fraud in Washington in 1985. He was charged in a civil matter regarding consumer protection issues, and if anybody committed a crime, it was the Attorney General’s office and their buddies. Their efforts killed one of Dennis’ employees.

Dennis did not plead guilty to two felony counts of consumer fraud in California in 1990. He pled guilty to not filing a form and paying fifty dollars regarding a civil law. Civil law is not criminal law, and is called "civil code" in the business.

Personally, I'm waiting for stage three, which is supposed to increase mileage 125%. It's so good you have to periodically stop and remove excess gas from your tank before it begins to spill out.
