Fellow Self Service Operators,
Did anyone beside myself carefully listen to last Thursday's 4.5 hours of testimony from electronic payment experts etc?
I did not hear anything about exempting self service car washes from the proposed change of liability. Correct me if I am wrong but I did hear that future PCI standards will be steering away magnetic stripe ... not because of the lesser individual isolated fraud occurring but because of its inability to degrade any information passed from the swipe ... unlike the better potential for the chip process.

The head of that retail association on the panel repeated stated about no negotiation occurs with the payment people ... the retailers are handed a contract & they have to accept. Maybe it is just me ... but it seems like if enough of us support higher denomination coins it could even help those of us in those areas where card acceptance "is a must" ... by way of the credit card processors knowing that we have another alternative.
