we have an industrial vacs combo vac / carpet shampoo unit. when you put quarters or tokens in macine the vac runs fine and the seconds count down in a normal fashion, however when you toggle to shampoo or spot remover the unit shuts off and the countdown display goes blank. anyone ever had this problem. thanks

I believe the fuses are located behind the panel that has the reset button and or the winter time operations toggle switch. The are black twist lock capsules. Try the easy thing first.

Sounds weird - I would think a fuse problem wouldn't make it go blank, just not work. A dead short in the 110v to the shampoo pump might, but then I would think it would trip the breaker.

Is this a single door unit? If so then the coil on the relay that turns the compressor on is weak and the contacts are not staying closed which will reset the timer. Have you tried to start in shampoo or spot remover? Are the results the same? Do you hear a buzzing noise when you switch to shampoo or spot remover? The problem generally is associated with the relays in the main power unit.

Sounds like you have a bad component in there. It's sucking the juice, not enpugh to blow the fuse, but enough to cause the display to go blank. Disconnect things one at a time and test each time. When the display stays on, you found the problem. I suspect the coil to a solenoid.
