Cash register receipt coupons

Wash em All Here
Has anyone had experience good or bad with putting coupons on the back of local grocery store receipts? We are in a town of about 10K and there is one major grocery store in town. I generally throw receipts without looking at the back but there are some that don't I guess.

The salesman says that the store uses 1150 rolls of tape per quarter, and there is a maximum of 9 coupons on a roll of tape. That means that we would have 288 coupons on each roll and that works out to about 110,400 coupons per month. The coupon can be changed quarterly with no additional expense. The monthly charge is slightly more than a relatively small add in the local weekly paper.

Any input would be appreciated.

We are a conveyor and offer a free Sealer wax with wash purchase. We have 4 locations listed in about 6 stores. We can get 10 or more coupons on a good day. Probably as many as 500 redemptions a month between the 4 places depending on overall business volume. By far our most successful promotion.

It seems grocery shoppers are coupon users.

We have three ss bays and a touchless ACW. I was thinking that we could offer a buy one or two and get one for the ACW or for a few months of the year we would offer a speacial token deal on either the ACW or the SS tokens.

I may do this; could be a great promotion.

Times are right for coupon use! Heard several radio stories recently on big savings through coupon use.

We've been using them for around 3 months now and so far so good. We offer $2.00 off of the wash and $3.00 off the oil change. We probally average around 4 to 5 per day between the two. Seems to work better than alot of the other things we tried. Even though discounts can haunt you, in these tough times it may be the difference between the customer coming to see me or not.

I would like to do something like this, but with a self serve car wash that is not attended on a regular basis, I wouldn't know what to advertise.
