Do you keep your changers full all the time? I was wondering if I should only keep enough in them to last afew days and refill, just in case something were to happen like theft or malfunction. Refilling all the changers at the beginning of the week is like keeping all of your eggs in one basket, just wondered how others handle this situation.

IMNSHO changers are thelife blood of the SS/ When I acquired mine only one of 2 were working and it only took singles. Quicl=kly got the other ressurrected and the first woking as well . Quickly learned I should have a third. why? If one of 2 jammmed, the other could be drained by use rather quickly.

Don't like getting a call that all 3 are not working. So, I guess it is a function of how often will you, or do you want to be there to make sure your customer's are serviced? Keep enough $ in to make sure the customers can get change between your visits even if one changer goes down.

That being said, I would suggest they be secured so that your worries are minimal. Aside from a secure building and locks, motion sensing alarm when no one is there is a must.

I had an old timer tell me that he left his changer doors open in the equipment room so when they broke in they would not tear them up. LOL I chose to use video surveillance, alarms, locks and dead bolts, and the three individual changers with the doors always locked. I have a very busy location that is attended and we only add enough change to last a day and empty the bills everynight. I certainly do not want a crook to hit the jack pot and make me a mark. I did have someone break in the back door but when the alarms went off the got out of there with nothing.

I too left mine unlocked, but didn't have an attendant. If I had one, I doubt if I would have let them have access to the changers.
