We have always been concerned that we do not make installed vendor packages "obsolete" when new technology or new features are developed. This is true with the new "chasing light" feature that has been developed to draw attention to the vending center.

We first posted some pix on this forum and then showed these lights for the first time on our Junior FL/RL small vendor at the recent WCA show in Las Vegas. We received some positive feedback from the attendees at the WCA show which was very useful to us. We have now developed a retrofit chasing light kit for the existing full size vendors with security cages. Please see pix below on this post.

We are still tweaking it to make it simple and inexpensive to install these lights on a cage at the wash site. This feature will be especially helpful if the vending center is not out in the vacuum area of the wash. They are 120-volt LED light ropes that use very little power, produce very little heat, and will last for 100,000 hours of continuous use. They are even available in different colors or a combination of colors. The light fixtures and supports will be powder coated white for better light reflectivity and will coordinate with any color on the cage.

So look at the pix below and give us some feedback on what we can do to make it better and more relevant to your vendor installation.

How easy would it be for the local college kids to remove for use at a frat party? (Thats where all my xmas decorations end up - even the ones on the roof.)

Could it be plugged into a timer so it only runs from 5pm to 10pm? (neighbor relations as well as cost savings)

Paul,

Good questions that need to be answered. The rope lights are secured inside of triangular steel fixtures that we make and the open side of the fixture will be protected from the "college set" with 1/4 inch lexan. The screws that hold the fixtures are under the lexan also so they can not be reached. All in all I think we designed some pretty good security for the lights.

As for the timer these LED lights are run on normal 120-volt AC and will plug into a normal duplex outlet. Very inexpensive timers can be purchased to turn them on and off as you desire.

The LED lights use very little power and do not get hot at all. The lifetime of these lights is 100,000 hours (11+ years); that's tight, one hundred thousand hours. That is what the manufacturer says, not what I say.

We should have the design done for a retrofit in a week or two and we will know the prices by then also.
