I just received an email for someone interested in one of my items in the classified ads. Beware of this scam, in which they offer to buy the item and that they will have someone send you a check. The deal is that they send a bogus (REALLY good counterfeiting) check large than the amount that your item cost and talk you into sending them the extra before your bank knows that it is bad.
This was happening a couple years ago and I warned about it then, but one of the forum members didn't read it and got burned for $5K. I see that they have resurfaced. Apparently, it still works.
If you want to see how these people work, play along to get the check, but don't give them your home address to FEDEX the check to. Have it go to the FEDEX office and you pick it up or something else. It is interesting to see their con.
